The Butterfly Affect 🦋

So I know this isn't what I usually post, but it's just something that's been on my mind lately (nothing bad happened to me, don't worry). I know it's been over a year since MatPat retired, but recently I re-watched MatPat's last FNAF video (the one about the Butterfly Effect). Now the butterfly effect has LONG been a hyperfixation of mine (but not my special interest). No, that was reserved for FNAF (it's T.T now, but that's not important), so I was really hyped that one of MatPat's last videos was about it. But it got me thinking about how much of a butterfly effect Matthew Patrick has had on MY life!. Okay, so Sillys lore moment here: I don't ACTUALLY remember finding MatPat (I'm actually half convinced he just appeared in my subscriptions as one of my favorite YouTubers because, as I said, I have NO memory of finding him, which is kind of weird considering I remember the EXACT first Danno short I ever watched, but I'll get to that later.) But WHATEVER it was, I must have liked it because I subbed! (Or he might have just appeared; IDK). Then sometime around mid-to-late 2023, I stumbled across this Film Theory video called "You Have To Stop Scrolling." A little video about the Shorts Wars ARG. "Cool! "I thought as I unthinkingly clicked on it." Matpat's ARG videos are always interesting! I'll give it a watch! I gotta say BLESS THE YOUTUBE ALGORITHM GODS FOR THIS ONE! Because AFTER I watched it, one by one, all the people involved showed up on my feed! Except for Phalir for some reason (IDK, the guy just never turned up, and I have no idea how to spell his channel name). So uh... Preston (not the blue rat), if you're reading this, sorry, mate. But the others DID! And I subbed to all of them! I think I found Danno and Jonny first. I don't remember what my first Jonny video was, but I DISTINCTLY remember my first Danno video! (At the time, I knew him as the Guy From Shorts Wars With The Freaky Mutant Mascot.) I remember watching YouTube at 7 or 8 PM when I came across a Danno short!. (It was the one about how YT Shorts are hacking our brains), and I pretty much just binged his Danno Cal channel for the next 1-2 hours. After I watched all those, I did some exploring and found his original Danno channel (funny); his Dear Danno channel (that is nice to listen to but can be pretty depressing); and Riggy's channel. My favorite videos are probably the one about Loki and the Being A Deadweight In (blank) series (Danno, if you're reading this, PLEASE bring back that series; it's SO funny! I'll put links to both of the D.W. videos in the comments and maybe the one about Valentine's Day (I'm aromantic, so I find it kind of funny to see what y'all have to deal with). After I watched all the RPK gang's videos, I found a bunch of OTHER YouTubers who liked Danno. BloodKandyx (Marble_Boo at the time) Milo K, Gatcha Lemon, and Itz_medha (links to ALL of their channels in the comments). Except for BloodKandyx because he isn't in the fandom anymore and he probably wouldn't want to be linked to something like this, but I still encourage you to check him out! Until I found one called Clarerose (again, link in the comments). I liked her stuff, so I checked out her community tab and found links to a little story called Where Is Danno? On a little site called Wattpad. Now I was a bit scared to read it because we all know how fanfics can be, let's be real. But it was actually really good! And definitely not smutty at all! (Links to Karla in the comments.) So after I read LOADS of fics, I decided to write one of my own! (Fun fact: it was originally going to be CORALINE themed. It would still be about Riggy & Danno, but just... Coraline??? IDK??) And well... the rest is history! AND! GOOD NEWS!

I MIGHT GET AN ANIMATION MADE ABOUT MY FIC! (Keyword MIGHT.) The person who offered to make it hasn't gotten back to me yet, so IDK. So yeah... thanks MatPat for basically getting me into all my favorite YouTubers and this whole new obsession! Thank you to Danno for just being an AWESOME guy who's helped me a TON! Thank you to Clare, Itz_medha, Lemon, and Milo! Clare for helping me get here, Lemon, Itz_medha, and Milo for just being awesome people! (Even if they never interacted with me outside of Milo pinning my comment once, they're all still really good people). Milo, Itz, and Lemon, if ANY of you are reading this, keep making videos! They're all so good! Thanks to everyone reading this, but I especially wanna thank Karla Vampyfindmeonao3pls and Mushy21200! Karla for giving me the initial support back when I was JUST starting out on Wattpad and was really nervous about putting my stuff here. Vampy, thank you for being my friend and overall being there to nerd out with because no one in my family knows who RiGbY and DaMaGe are. Thank you to Mushy21200 for the kind words, RIIIIIIIIGHT when I started posting my art (like, seriously, I think if you hadn't been so nice, I probably wouldn't have posted anything else). Especially since my first drawing was of Bam and I didn't QUITE know how to draw him yet. Thank you to BloodKandyx too! (Lucas, if you're reading this, I know you've left the T.T/S.W./RPK fandoms, but I still think it's important for me to thank you, as I probably wouldn't have the courage to post my art here if you hadn't done it first). And thank you to the person who offered to make a video about my fic! And even if you can't make it, thanks anyway for the offer! And finally, thank YOU! To the people who made it this far! Seriously, you guys helped me live out one of my childhood dreams! (Being an author)... and now I am! (Not a published one or anything, but this is still REALLY awesome!) Which is actually kind of insane! Because the realization I had achieved one of my life-long goals only hit me a month ago and I just... WHOA. Guess the butterfly effect is just as cool as I thought way back then. <3
