Danno woke up on the floor of his room. Why was he on the floor? Oh...right...the creature... . He got up and stretched. He was so stiff, and his back hurt. He glanced at his bed; Funny little creature was still there, but the bandages on its head needed to be refreshed. It had even started to leak onto the pillow. Danno walked into the bathroom and grabbed some more bandages, but when he got back, he stopped. It would be kind of hard to re-bandage the funny little creature if it were lying down. But... should he wake it up? Would it be better if he let it sleep? Maybe he should wake it up and explain what was happening. Should he just let it stay unconscious? Who knew if this thing had a high or low pain tolerance? But that all was decided for him when the strange creature stirred and made a few weak mumbling noises. Danno jumped—it was waking up! The little animal pushed itself up slowly and looked around groggily. "Uh..." said Danno. "H...hello...um...what's your name? And what ARE you? "Can't..." the creature mumbled. "Head hurts..." Its voice was high and squeaky, like when a teenager's voice breaks, and it hurt Danno's ears are a little. "Yeah..." said Danno, trying to make his voice sound comforting. "Your head is hurt...I need to re-bandage it...can I touch it? I need to help you..." The little animal put its hands over its ears and began shaking its head rapidly. "HURTS," it said louder. "I know, buddy," said Danno (he had decided the creature was a boy). He gingerly put his hands on the creature's arms and carefully pushed them away from its ears. Slowly he unwrapped the bandages. He could tell the little creature was trying to sit still, but it was fidgeting a lot. Luckily the funny little animal's head wasn't infected or anything ("Thank goodness for disinfectants," Danno thought), but it DID look really sore. After he was finished, Danno bent down on one knee. "Are you hungry?" He asked. "Do you want any food? What do I even FEED you? Based on your ears, I'm guessing you like carrots? Is that offensive? That I think JUST because you're a rabbit you like carrots? Or..." The little creature curled up and nodded very slowly. He was staring at Danno weirdly. He was making eye contact, but he was looking at Danno's eyes like he could see in the back of Danno's skull through his eyes. Danno gingerly picked up the creature and carried him to the kitchen. "Okay..." said Danno. "What do you want? I could make you a sandwich or...I could make you spaghetti...or...I could reheat the leftovers from last nigh—hey, are you alright?" The little animal was staring disconnectedly at his plate. Danno waved his hand in front of the funny little animal's face. No response. Now starting to feel panic build in his chest. Danno gently shook the creature's shoulder—still NO RESPONSE. NOW he was starting to feel panicky. He didn't know much about brains as Joey, but the other day he HAD written a script for a short about a thing called "synesthesia." Basically you would associate certain things with colors, like fall pumpkins and the color orange, yadda yadda yadda. Point is, he knew a thing or two about brains. Enough that he knew disassociating was probably BAD, especially in the current context. Danno was starting to get fidgety. Maybe Joey could help...yes... Joey could help his new furry friend. So he ran off to go find him...
