We just need to enjoy the time we have together and be thankful that in this moment we are happy and content."

"You're right daddy. It's really good advice. I'll try to do that. You help ground me. It's honestly really helpful to think like this."

"You know what would make this evening complete, darling? To snuggle up on the sofa and fall asleep to a movie."

Steve finished drying Aleks and helped her into the pyjamas she had with pictures of bears on. She always looked so cute in them. They moved to the lounge and melted into each other's arms. In that moment any anxiety or fear they had been feeling lifted from them, and they felt a contentment that sent them both into a quick, deep and satisfying sleep.
