*NISHTHA'S POV*:-

My fingers clenched the handle of the coffee mug in a tight grip as if supporting me from fainting.

I was tensed, my heart and mind were at a war with each other since the past 7 days. Taking a deep breath, I tried to stabilize myself. Looked around at the view from the University's canteen, hoping to distract myself with the view of fresh cherrywood blooms.

The sight was supposed to be like a fresh breath of air, making me get lost into it. Instead, it made me feel emptier.

A month had passed with me shifting to Connecticut, it was a little difficult to settle in but the past 7 days were the hardest, they were both mentally and physically exhausting.

Shifting here was tiring and so were the lined up assigments and exams. But these were nothing I couldn't handle, I was prepared for all of this before I came here. I knew I had to ace these difficulties to become my envisioned self.

But then something I wasn't prepared happened-

Pregnancy.

It was not on my list for atleast the next four to five years, especially not after I had enrolled myself for the Masters Degree and when I got to know about it two weeks ago, I was flabbergasted. Completely shook.

I won't lie that I didn't get second thoughts. I honestly did, cause mentally and how my current situation is- alone in a foreign country and an on-verge-of-breaking marriage, I was not ready to raise a baby and that too as a single mother.

The thought itself seemed scary for that moment, it made me shiver.

Numerous questions arose in my mind but I had to think both logically as well as emotionally.

Was I sufficient enought to have a child ?

Could I manage both my studies and this baby alone ?

Could I give my baby time as a single parent ?

Would I become a good mother ?

Unknown to myself, I had already started to think like a mother- someone who thought of her baby's well being before hers. I didn't want the baby to enter the worl and then feel worthless, nope, my baby didn't deserve it.

But all these questions became a long lost thought once I saw the foetus through the ultrasound ; I knew I was going to keep it.

All my thoughts now changed to a force of optimism, so what if I was not mentally prepared, I have 6 months to ready myself.
