A few days later it was a Saturday so it wasn't my alarm that woke me up. I rolled over and the realisation that Toby wasn't sleeping next to me hit me like a brick wall. I slid into my soft slippers and walked into Poppy's room. Surprisingly she was still sleeping so I just sat in the rocking chair in the corner of the room and watched her sleeping. She looked so peaceful.

When she woke up I gave her her bottle and made myself breakfast. Cereal, nothing compared to the amazing breakfast that Toby would have made. They say you only know you love someone when you let them go, I guess that's true although I already knew that I loved Toby. I just don't think I ever realised how much I needed him. I got dressed, put Poppy in her pale pink pram and set off in the direction of Caleb and Hanna's place.

When I arrived, Hanna took one look at my face and gestured for me to come in. The whole house was very chic and modern, I walked into their living room and paused when I saw Toby. Sat there on the black leather sofa watching TV with Caleb.
"Toby," I said, relief in my voice, I hadn't had any contact with him for four days. He didn't even look at me he just stood up and walked straight out of the room. My heart sank.
"I wouldn't worry about it," Hanna smiled putting her hand on my arm, "He just needs a little more time,"

Hanna had told me that Toby and Caleb were going for dinner with Ezra and Mike at a restaurant in rosewood so that night I hired a babysitter and I got a taxi to the place where they were eating. The weather was horrible and I hadn't brought an umbrella so I waited in the shelter of a bus stop nearby. I didn't wait for long because they came out of the restaurant only five minutes after I arrived.

I walked over to Toby, his face was lit by the dim, warm glow of a streetlight. He saw me and started to walk in the opposite direction but I grabbed his arm, I felt a spark of electricity were my skin touched his.
"Don't walk away from me Toby," I said, my voice sounded so firm, raindrops fell on my face, "I need you. I need you Toby, and so does Poppy. Please don't do this." I couldn't read his expression, his cornflour blue eyes were so intense, his wet hair was sticking to his forehead. Then, without warning, he closed the gap between his lips and mine in one swift movement.

When I pulled away I could feel the warmth of this breath brushing the top of my lip and I stood there, in the pouring rain, staring into his captivating blue eyes. The rest of the world melted away and all I could see was him.
