*This chapter is set a few months later*

I swore as my empty coffee flask hit the floor, I picked it up and kicked open the front door. It had been another challenging day at work, my arms were aching and filled with files and papers, I was so tired.
"Toby?" I shouted, "Are you home?" There was no reply. I looked at my watch, it was after 9:00 and Toby finished work at 5:00. Confused, I walked through the apartment to our bedroom and I saw Toby stood by the window. He was wearing a crisp white shirt and jeans, seeing him brought a smile to my face.
"I need to show you something," He said, and I might have imagined it, but I swear I heard his voice shake. I walked slowly over to the window where he was standing and I looked out, from our fourth floor apartment, onto the field below.

There, sitting on the grass, were hundreds of beautiful tea-lights flickering in the moonlight. Flames dancing, lighting up an otherwise dull night. And they spelt out three words:

Marry
Me
Spencer

Shock enveloped me and happiness spread through me like warmth. I felt my eyes fill with tears as I turned back to face Toby, he wasn't stood up anymore. He was down on one knee looking up at me.
"Hey Spencer." The corner of his lips curling into a slightly nervous smile, I noticed that he had styled his hair. He looked even more gorgeous than usual.
"Hi Toby," My voice cracked,
"I love you so so much. I really do. I can't imagine my life without you, and I don't want to." He looked directly into my teary hazel eyes, and he pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket. "Marry me?" He opened the box and inside was a beautiful silver engagement ring with a sparkling diamond in the centre. It was breathtaking.

I nodded my head vigorously but it took me a while to get the words out,
"What do you think?" I grinned and he stood up, placed the ring on my pale finger, wrapped his arms around me and kissed me passionately. His lips were warm and soft against mine. All of my worries and stresses from during the day faded away. He made me feel something. Something that I'd never felt before. Something incredible.

...and I never wanted that feeling to go away.
