My chest was heavy, as my eyes fluttered open, blinded by the sun peaking in through the dark purple curtains. I peer down at my chest to see a head full of golden brown hair and an arm draped across my stomach, stopping at my thighs.

A small smile crept onto my lips, and my fingers found their way to his soft hair.
"Hmm..." He moans quietly, shuffling a bit.
"Morning Toby," I mumble, and he moved his head, tilting it to look up at me.
"Morning baby," said Toby's voice, all cute and raspy, "how did you sleep?"
He grabbed my hand, pulling it away from his hair, drawing it up to his lips.

"I slept well," I flushed as he deftly laid a kiss on the back of my hand.

"I love you," I recite lowly, as I do every morning.

"I love you more," he whispered back, as he does every morning.

"It's Poppy's last chemotherapy session today," I said quietly.
"I know," Toby said, still holding my hand in his, "soon we'll be able to put this whole horrible and experience behind us,"
A smile appeared on my face for the second time that morning as I nodded.

Suddenly I heard Jake crying, the noise filled the bedroom and broke the relaxing mood in the room.

"I'll get it," I said, beginning to stand up. But Toby put his arm right across me and pushed me backwards on to the bed, I squealed slightly and then laughed, "you sleep, I'll go and see him," he smiled.

He climbed over my body, laying a soft kiss on my forehead as he did and I watched him walking out of the room, he was wearing dark blue checked pajama bottoms and no top. His tanned, toned body still gave me goosebumps.

I was wearing the top that matched, it was way too big for me and it was quite old now. But it makes me remember the first night that I realised I had feelings for him, in the motel.

It smelt of Toby too- a musky, woody smell that made my heart beat one hundred times an hour in my chest.

I closed my eyes again, and at some point, I drifted back off to sleep.
