After my fifth plead for Iza to open the door and complete silence I was getting annoyed.

"I'm finna knock this damn door down Ma."

I leaned on the door frame and crossed my arms over my chest.

I looked over at Kelly and rolled my eyes.

"Iza."

There was shuffling and the door unlocked.

"Grace Kelly excuse yourself."

She rolled her eyes and left the room.

I reached for the door and it opened.

I watched her standing with bloodshot eyes and a hand in her pocket.

"Is it that messed up that I stayed?" She asked.

I could sense the anger bottled up inside her.

I shook my head.

"Don't lie to me."

I stared as deeply as I knew how and answered her.

"It's something only you can answer. I wasn't there, I didn't love him. You did."

She looked down and took a deep breath.

I pulled her closer and nestled her into my chest and let her feel safer. I knew she felt some sort of comfort by being held like this and I knew no other way to do it without crossing the boundaries.

I held her small figure close and kissed her head.  I rubbed her back and closed my eyes with a satisfied smile at the job my men had done on messing that nigga up. He wouldn't be trouble for a couple of weeks.

I sighed and moved away from her.

"We going shopping tomorrow."

She frowned.

"For what?"
"We rolling now. I can't have you looking like anybody."

She laughed and shook her head.

"You.. You're something else."

I smiled.

"I know that."

She looked away smiling.

She passed me and started messing with things on my cabinet.

"This is the perfume you were wearing when you caught me on the run."

"How did you-"
"I remember." She stated looking over her shoulder.

I smiled. An unrecognized feeling coming over me.

I stay getting caught off guard with her.

I have no expectations for her but it's like she still excells them.

"We going out early?"
"Yeah,  we'll have breakfast out and start looking."

She nodded.

"We should lay down then."
"WE should." I emphasized.

Her eyes widened.

"I didn't mean it like tha-."

I let my smirk show and her eyes slit as she stared at me before crossing the room and shoving me slightly.

"Damn it August." She said before laughing to herself.

I chuckled.

"I sleep on the right side."

Her lips parted and she nodded looking away.

"What nah'?"
"Can I sleep on the couch?"
"Why?"
"Habit."

I frowned.

"What?"
"We didn't share a bed.."  She whispered. -" He'd drag me to his room and kick me out when he was done." I heard her sniff.
" You can't sleep on the couch. You're sleeping with me." I said watching her.

She looked at me wiping harshly the tears that had appeared on her face. She gulped and cleared her throat.

"With me."

She nodded hugging me again.
