I woke up feeling cold and warm all over. Like the sheets that covered the front part of my body wasn't enough to keep away the chill that covered the room and Augusts body hugged to mine brought a hotter atmosphere into the room... Better yet into myself.

My legs were a little numb, not that I could barely feel them but I knew I'd have a little trouble staying up today. Work!

"Shit." I mumbled sitting up.

He pulled me back feeling all over me.

"Where do you think you're going?"
"I got work."
"No you don't."
"Anthony...." I whispered.
"You're fired go back to sleep."

I laughed.

"Let go August I got to get ready or I'll be late."

He groaned.

"Stay home baybeh. I wanna stay with you today."
"I have work." I said looking at him.
"I'm being serious. Call in sick. They can handle it out there."
"August what type of professional would you be if you didn't show up on time?"
"But I got nobody for me. You got me. I can treat you to everything you need and can want for."

He said kissing the back of my ear.

"But you playing." He said looking at me and I caught some atitude on his face.

"Babe." I heard myself say unexpectedly.

He looked at me.

"Would you sit back and watch me make money for the both of us?"
"Fcuk no."
"Then why should I? I'm not asking you to be my provider. More of a helping hand, a good time, yourself."

He laid on his back with his arm over his head.

"I can't be mah'self wit'out bein' ya protector, providing is a way o' protecting you."

I looked down and snuggled into him.

"I gotta learn to not need anybody."

He shook his head.

"I gotta do this for myself."

He was quiet for a long while.

"Come work with me then."
"I'm at the restaurant already silly."
"I mean with me not for me... Come spend the day with me tell me if you want to change or not."
"Like your assistant?"

He nodded.

"And Leah?"
"I'll handle it."
"You gon' fire her?"
"No she's in the gang 'till she dies."

My eyes widened.

"No." He shook his head. "I'll make it work. Just trust me."

I looked at him before pondering the idea of spending most of my time with him.
It felt... right. He'd done nothing but good to me. He had to know what he was doing.

I relaxed exhaling and snuggled closer to him.

"I'll take that as a yes."
"You should." I yawned.

I felt his skin against mine feeling a shiver down my spine. I smiled against his skin.

"I got you."
"I know."

---- two weeks later----

"This is the third house adress. Now the fourth one you only contact in extreme emergency."
" Classify an emergency."
"Me not being reachable. Unlikely but if it happens you gotta be ready."

I nodded putting my hair up in a bun.

"So..." I started resuming what he had taught me the past week to see if there were any details I hadn't remembered.
