After a long comfortable moment of silence we got back to our original place.
"Can we go home?" I asked.
Home... I thought to myself biting my lip.
"Nah let's do what we agreed to."
I sighed.
"We can get a take out and go somewhere nice and talk."
"Mutually."
"What you mean?"
"I don't even know your full name."I chuckled shaking my head at how absurd this was.
"August Anthony Alsina Jr."
" Your age?"
"Old enough."
" Or not." I smirked.He chuckled.
"You keep playing mami."
My smile widened.
"Why did you move to New York?"
"Business." He said with a normal accent.Thats when I noticed how it switched with his mood.
"What about you?"
"Parents wanted a better life. Got transferred and stayed after the contract was over."The less detail the better.
"How old were you?"
"I wasn't."He chuckled.
"Why they leave?"
"Bankruptcy."
"Why you stay?"
"Jerome."
"Alright."I laughed.
"What?"
"Still know nothing about you."
" Ask away."
"What do you work with?"
"I own a couple clubs and a couple pubs around town. "I smiled.
"What?"
"Haven't been to a club in forever."
"What seventeen year old you know about clubbing."I grinned.
"You would've bought me a drink."
"What makes you think I'm that type?"
"True, buying me a bottle sounds more appropriate."He laughed.
I smiled and looked around.
"What's this? "
"Steakhouse." He said cutting the engine.
I reached for the door and he slapped my thigh.
"Hey!"
"You know better."I raised an eyebrow.
"Sit your ass right there and wait fa' me ta open ya damn door." He said hopping out.
I chuckled. This nigga is a trip.
I brushed my hair behind my ear and he opened my door reaching out his hand.
"Mami."
I laughed taking his hand and stepping out.
"Thank you papi."
"Whatchu call me?"
"Nu'n I said thank you."
"Yeah alright."
"All good." I smiled. We went to the door and he asked for a table.
The host greeted us and took us to a table. He reached for my chair but August dismissed him politely.
He pulled my chair and waited till I was seated to take his seat.
He took the menu and I sat mine beside my plate.
He read the menu for a while as I looked around.
"He ain't let you pick your food either did he?"
