The heavy durasteel doors slammed shut behind them with a thunderous clang, rattling Ava's very bones right down to the marrow. Dakota spun, slashing her green lightsaber in a clean arc that sent the last two remaining droids inside the relay center crashing to the ground, sparking and twitching. Smoke curled from the wounds in their torsos as silence finally settled.

Rex moved to the side wall and checked the door controls, sealing them fully with an override. His armor was scorched and chipped, but his posture steady. Ava stepped over the rubble of battle droids, moving around the Jedi warily as if the floor was rigged with trip wire.

"We're locked in." Rex alerted, closing the control panel and tucking his blasters into their holsters. "That'll hold them for a while."

Dakota nodded, sheathing her saber. "You're okay?" She checked on him, coming to his side. She noted the blaster marks from the enemy that ricochetted off his blue shoulder armor

"I've been better." He replied. "Can't get worse than Geonosis."

She bit back a smile. "Agreed."

Their plan, as scrappy as it was to begin with, was unraveling at full speed. Word from Padmé on the senate's decision could've changed that. The republic could've been there by then. Something was wrong, she just wasn't sure what it was yet.

She stole a glance around the relay center. A plethora of controls were at their disposal; a possible solution to their predicament.

"What about you, kid?" Dakota called over to Ava. "You good?"

"I uh, yeah, I'm okay." She waved back.

"Good." She walked towards the teenager. "Get to the panel, then. Start the rewiring." She ordered, already shoving her gently into the direction.

Ava didn't hesitate, she scampered to the central console. Her fingers flew across the keys, bringing life to the ancient terminal, its screen flickering with the warm green hue of deep-system diagnostics. "Okay," she took in a shaky breath, mumbling to herself. "Alright, dad, what do I do? What do I do?"

Dakota stepped back, giving her space to work. The way the girl spoke to herself sent Dakota's eyebrow raising, and she shared a curious look with Rex. They shrugged, keeping their thoughts to themselves .

The data screens changed and flashed as Ava flipped through the files, in pursuit of the gravity lanes closest to the maintenance hall.

As she did that, Dakota eyed the walls that were thick, reinforced, and coated with old signal plates. Most of the room was sealed aside from one small window that over looked the cloudy, murky sky beyond the detention center. "No wonder they routed everything through here." She uttered as Rex stepped up to her side. He removed his helmet to get some air.

"The shielding of the detention center must be jamming our signals..." she pulled out her transmitter. "But we've got a window now."

A blinking light pulsed on the side of her small, handheld transmitter. An incoming transmission. One that's been trying to reach her for a while now. Her dark brows creased. She lifted the comm device, stopping when she read the encryption key. "It's Obi-Wan." she lit up.

She tapped the side-button with her thumb to engage the receiver. For a moment, the fight in her shoulders eased. A small, holographic projection sprouted up, casting a soft blue glow on her face. Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared, his face surprised, as if he didn't expect her to answer.
