There were too many images rushing through Kirsten's head. Monsters, explosions, gunshots, even memories. Memories were also coming back in her nightmares but she couldn't determined what was real and what wasn't. Screaming for days because she couldn't run away fast enough. Emotions shooting through her body like gunshots, she couldn't breathe. Her eyes shot open and she sat up scared for her life. Sweat soaked her body and her heart beat raced.

"Camille!" She yelled as the blonde was trying to regain steady breath.

"Camille?" As she got up slowly from her bed she wondered where could her roommate have gone. Then as she entered the kitchen she found a note sitting on the bar.

"Went to Linus'. Be back in the morning." -C

Great. Just great. Just when Kirsten needed her the most, she was gone. Who else's was she gonna call? Then a thought appeared in her head. She had no choice but to call Cameron. She fought it over in her head. She could just drive over there, but she was in no condition to drive. Her only choice left was to hear his voice.

Cameron was sleeping blissfully until his phone started to buzz. As he heard the noise from his deep sleep he grabbed it off his side table blindly without checking Caller ID.

"Who's calling me in the middle of the night?" He thought.

When he answered it he heard nothing on the other line but crying and choked up sobs. Then the blonde mustered up the courage to say, "Cameron, I need you." through her broken sobs. As soon as he heard the words he rushed off to go to Kirsten's house.

"I'll be there as fast as possible, Princess. I'll see you soon, okay?"

"Okay." She whispered. He put on his glasses and shoes and grabbed his car keys and rushed out of the door. He had to save his princess. He pressed hard on the gas the whole way there and when he turned into Kirsten's house he barely put his car into park before he ran to her front door. He was about to knock but he saw it was already open, awaiting for his coming. He was about to call Kirsten's name but he saw her slowly coming towards him, tears streaming down her face.

"I thought you were never gonna come." Even though he could see how much pain she was in, what she had just said was so sarcastic and that made him smile.

"I'm here now, Stretch." He offer her a hug and she came in and squeezed him. Hard. All she wanted was Cameron right now.

"Do you want me to help you go back to sleep? Or do you want to talk?" He asked as he looked upon the beautiful blonde's face. She said nothing at first and led him to her bedroom. When they got there, they both sat down on her bed and she put her knees against her chest and cradled herself. Cameron look at her and wished he can absorbed all the pain she was in. He prayed to God that he would take her pain away. He brought her close and wrapped his arms around her. She buried her face into his body and took in the scent of him. She didn't want him to ever let her go.

"Cam?" She whispered as they broke apart.

"Yeah, Ace?"

"I-I just can't do it. It hurts so bad." The stitcher stutters. The emotions she's feeling are electrocuting her body and she can't do it anymore. She can't breathe.

"What hurts, Kirsten? It's me Cameron, I won't hurt you. I'll take your pain away. I'll protect you from anything. I'll save you." She look up into his eyes and he sees more tears rush down her cheeks.

"My- my nightmares are like knifes in my heart."

"What did you see, Stretch?" It was so hard for her to get the words out. He could she the struggle she was going through. He reminded her again, "Kirsten, you can tell me anything."

"I saw you. You dying." She was done for it now. She was in complete breakdown mode and the thing was when she saw the look reflecting on her best friend's face it scared her more. Terror. Shock. And trust me, Kirsten felt the same way. But the neuroscientist quickly recovered and turned her towards him.

"Kirsten, look at me." He lifted her chin up to look him in the eye. "You're not going to lose me."

"You can't promise me that. Protecting me is your job. It's your life."

"Yes I can promise you that. Like this." The brunette was about to make a bold move. But he knew it was worth it.

Cameron locked eyes with Kirsten, then he caressed her cheek softly and went in for the kiss. It was deep and passion, it felt like magic playing against their lips. At first he thought she wouldn't kiss him back. But when she did it, he could feel how much she wanted this to happen. This moment was frozen and it was perfect. When they broke apart, she looked him in the eyes and admitted it, "I love you Cameron, so much."

"I love you too Stretch. With all my heart." He told her as he wiped away the rest of her streaming tears.

"C'mon Cupcake, let's get you to sleep." He helps her get relaxed into bed and pulls the cover over her. Then as they settled in close next to each he began to place small playfully kisses on her neck.

In between them he asked, "Is this alright, Stretch?" And for the first time that night what seemed like a smile was about to appear on her face. She knew her nightmare could never come true now.

She nodded and as sleep almost took her she called out his name one last time.
"Cameron?"

"Yeah, Buttercup?"

"Stay with me." She whispered.

"Always."

"I mean, forever."

"You don't have to ask me twice, KC." Then they both fell asleep into blissfully paradise knowing one thing, no one was going anywhere.

Author's Note: I was inspired by a few one shots on here who did the Camsten Nightmare idea. So I decided to do write one up. I hope you enjoy! If you have any prompt ideas I would love to hear them! Thanks for reading :)
