I was looking for a breath of life
A little touch of heavenly light
But all the choirs in my head sang "No"
To get a dream of life again
A little of vision of the start and the end
But all the choirs in my head sang "No"Sirens went off like crazy in the Stitch Lab to warned everyone this was not a drill. Kirsten was lost and nowhere to be found in the new sample they were stitching into. Cameron continuously screamed her name and pleaded, "Kirsten, talk to me please!" No response. All the sirens were screaming in Cameron's head, constantly reminding him he had to do something.
"I'm pulling her out." Cameron declared as he began the protocol. But he stopped when the other set of Wonder Twins yelled, "Are you insane?" as the shot daggers at him.
"If you pull her out now, it could risk this program greatly!" Maggie yelled at the neuroscientist as she approached him with a swift pace.
"And if I don't, she'll die!" Cameron shot back, then a devious smile formed on his face. "And we wouldn't want that would we Miss. Baptiste?" Her expression fell. They both knew he had the upper hand in this war. No one wanted Kirsten to die. Everyone had their different reasons why though.
"Start the protocol Dr. Goodkin." Maggie commanded him irritably as she marched back to her spot on the upper deck.
"Happily. Okay Stretch, time to wake up." As he started the protocol he felt all his energy being released into the quantum computer that led her mind.
"Ladies and Gents prepare for the second act of Fish Tank Trauma Scenes by the Stitch Lab." Camille narrated. The rest of team stared her down, shooting daggers. "Sorry too soon?"
Once he finished entering the protocol into the quantum computer, he rested his hands on the levers, trying to wrap his mind around the events that were spinning around him.
"Ready, Ayo?" Cameron asked one last time as he glanced up at her.
"We're a go."
"We're on Princess. Trust me." Cameron took a deep breath then he he pushed the metal levers up to power on the protocol. He need to revive Kirsten's body now.
"Camille! Watch over my station!"
"Got it Lab Rat!" As the brunette ran to the fishtank, he climbed the stairs to get to the blonde but he waited for the green light from Camille.
"Is she out yet?!"
"Yeah, go!" She confirmed. Then the neuroscientist saw a fearful sight. Cameron had no clue how long Kirsten had been under the water and for the first time he felt like he had temporal dysplasia. But she was now floating on top of it, carelessly.. He grabbed her pale and lifeless body from the murderous waters and laid her down on a table. He figure the only solution so far would be mouth to mouth. He started the compressions. "C'mon Stretch! Wake up! I need you." Then he place his lips on hers and wished it was for a different reason. He wished she was awake and she wanted to kiss him back too.
After a few sets of CPR, Maggie came over and placed her hand on his tense shoulder.
"Cameron-"
"She's not dead! I won't allow it! I can't risk her." He explained with streaming tears running from his eyes.
"I'm so sorry, bro." Linus said with sensitive eyes and tears filling them.
Finally the brunette gave in, and pick the blonde up off the table and let the lifeless stitcher rest in his arms.
"She was the strongest person I knew. It's impossible for her to die this way." He explained as sobs escaped his lips.
"Everyone who isn't high clearance, leave the lab now!" As people scattered, Maggie dealt out her final instructions. "I want the rest of you guys to stay around, but give Cameron his space. He is very vulnerable right now."
"Lastly, Ayo I want you to stay in the lab. Let's see if we can do anything to get a heartbeat back to her. This is a time that we need a miracle. We can't give up people!"
"And if not?" Camille questions with attentive eyes.
"We stitch." The leader confirmed simply. As she walked away, Camille caught up with her boss.
"You're not serious, are you?" She asked.
"Camille, we might have to." As he boss leaves her, Camille eyes scan the room and find Cameron holding Kirsten's lifeless body up to his, whispering things he always meant to say but never had the guts to. With each word, sobs escaped his mouth and made it hard for him to breath. She had never seen Cameron in this much pain before.
Their eyes eventually met, and when they did tears rushed down Camille's face. She could read every emotion on his face. It hit her like a lighting bolt and she felt weak to the knees. She knew one thing for sure. There has been a tragic mistake that has been made. Kirsten wasn't supposed to die. But now that she has what will Cameron do?
