He didn't know. It seemed like that was happening a lot these days.
"I-" The neuroscientist stuttered. It was hard for him to accept the cold hard truth, especially when it staring him right in the face.
"Please Cameron." Camille begged. "If not for me, do it for Kirsten." Her eyes were pleading for this one request. All she wanted was a happy future for all of them.
"You still see it don't you? Think back to that day?" He questioned, looking around the room. He couldn't bear to look back into her tortured eyes
"Like it was yesterday." The air became thick with emotion and Cameron's eyes began to water. It was so hard for all of them.
"You weren't there, Cam. She was shattered from your actions. You left her in the cold dark world and she didn't know how to survive without you." It felt like a knife went through his heart. Tears streamed started his face.
"I promise to let you keep me safe. But that doesn't mean I can't keep my Princess safe still. But I won't go that far again unless its the final resource. Okay?"
"Okay. But talk to us. I never ever want to stitch into you again." As tears were in both eyes, they hugged each other tight and that seemed to heal all the other wounds that words couldn't. As they broke apart Cameron said:
"I promise, CE." He stared into her eyes so genuinely that she couldn't let go of it.
"Cmon let's go."

In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars.
Cameron and Kirsten stood in awe, arm in arm, in amazement. They had entered in Fitzgerald's world now.
Camille and Linus and had join them, also arm in arm, eyes widen from all the hype the party was creating.
"I like large parties. They're so intimate. At small parties there isn't any privacy." All their heads turned to Camille an gave her questioning looks. Finally a voice came into the conversation.
"Really, Camille?" Kirsten questioned.
"If I'm Jordan Baker, I have to pinpoint her character exactly. I think you should all consider that as well." The roommate informed.
"She has a point. Maybe when should do that." Cameron considered.
"Okay it's settled, we'll separate. I'll call Fisher for backup, just in case anything happens to Gatsby." She said pointing to the handsome brunette.
"Nothing is going to happen to me." The handsome brunette complained. He didn't understand why everyone else was freaking out so bad. It was just a party. He had a deep feeling in the pit of his stomach that the killer's bark was worst than his bite.
"We need to keep you safe. I need to keep you safe." Kirsten whispered grazing her thumb against his cheek.
"Okay Stretch. I trust you."
"You mean Daisy?"
"Exactly." He cupped her cheek and went in. He kissed her lips softly, playing flirtatiously tricks to her heart. Tonight was their night.
"Hello! Earth to Gatsby!" The two lovers broke apart and looked at their questioning friends.
"What? I'm just playing the role." Cameron said with a smirk.
"Yeah yeah. We'll split up. I wanna dance with "Jordan" anyways." Linus told them. He gave her a wink and Camille's face exploded with happiness.
"You lead, I'll follow baby!" And the couple escaped hand in hand with wide smiles across the dance floor.
