It was funny actually. When Cameron first met Kirsten he would have never imagined falling in love with a girl like her. But she was different. In a sense, they were destined. They were the perfect match. It didn't matter what anyone else said, because in the end, he knew she was the one. But the question he kept asking himself was this, "What did I do to get this girl stuck in my head?" Because once she was stuck, she wasn't leaving.

Cameron had invited Kirsten over to hang out on their day off to watch a movie and just to talk. So as Cameron was getting their movie snacks together he heard the blonde's signature knock.

"It's open, Stretch!" He yelled.

"How'd you know it was me?" She asked playfully. He saw a small smile on her lips and it just made him laugh.

"Well it's you or the cops, Cupcake."

"Better take your chances on it always being me then." She tells the brunette as she sits down on a bar stool.

"I promise I will." He smiled while looking down to open a can of soda. As he looked up he pushed up his glasses and saw she was already staring at him. Her beautiful brown eyes killed him. They just melted his heart away.

"Want one?" He asked as he tapped the soda top.

"Yeah, sure." She answered softly. It's not like Kirsten hadn't been over to hang out at Cameron's apartment with Cameron alone before, but this time was different. She didn't know how yet exactly, but she could sense it. Cameron slid her a can of soda and grab the rest of their movie treats as he came around the counter towards her.

"Ready, Buttercup?"

"Wait-" She told him urgently. But the rest of the words wouldn't form and leave her mouth.

"What is it, Kirsten?" The neuroscientist asked with concerned eyes. But nothing came out. The truth, what she always wanted to tell Cameron wouldn't come out. Why was it this hard? So as she pondered this, she decided to drop the inevitable reality and push it back until later. But it seemed they both have been doing that a lot lately.

"It's nothing, Girlfriend. Let's go watch the movie." She tells Cameron, doing her best to give him a reassuring smile.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course." She whispered. But he knew better, something was up. As he went over to pop the disc into the DVD player he looked back at the blonde. Her expression looked as if she was in distress. Which worried the brunette greatly. He knew it couldn't be residual emotions because they've been off of work for two days now. So Kirsten must be stressing out about something, but what? This means Detective Goodkin to the rescue! As he approached her on the couch she was ready for the movie with popcorn in her lap and her legs across the couch.

"So CG you're really making me watch The Great Gatsby?"

"It's a classic book! But the movie just looks a like more modern, but nevertheless it still is an amazing plot."

"Whatever you say Stud." She gives in with a small smile. Once he hit play, Cameron turns around to the blonde and lifts her legs from their place on the couch so he could have a place to sit. It was routine, you see. Every time they watched a movie or hung out, she would lay her legs horizontal across the couch and then he would sit at the end of the couch having his legs propped up on a chair with her feet in his lap. He enjoyed that. He felt closer to her, because in some way she let him in. She trusted him.

"Oh and don't steal my popcorn!" She teased him, throwing a kernel at his face. Believe or not, Dr. Goodkin had amazing precision and caught the buttery kernel in his mouth in the nick of time.

"Wouldn't dream of it, Princess." He reflect the same tone and throw another kernel at her. She loved their popcorn wars.

As the movie continued she began to get more comfortable and melt into the brunette's figure. He put his arm around her and the moment was perfect. He thought she was asleep towards the ending credits but as it appeared he looked down the blonde's eyes were still glued to the screen and to his touch.

Out of nowhere he heard a voice and paused the movie. "Cam?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm really glad I'm here with you." The blonde whispered. Her voice was genuine though and that's what made him smile so big.

"Me too, Stretch. Me too."

He couldn't do it anymore, he had to tell her. Before he exploded would be a nice choice too. His hand was about to reached for the remote again, he was so indecisive when it came to these types of things but the blonde stole it just in time. Their bodies separated and they locked eyes with each other.

"So do you think he was right?"

"Who, Gatsby?" He questioned, staring at the blonde's delicate features.

"Yeah."

"Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. -Tennyson" He requoted a quote that had stayed with Kirsten from a few months ago. She was wondering if after everything they've been through, was it worth it now. Her eyes began to tear up thinking about everything her and her partner in crime have been through.

"Kirsten, what is it? What's wrong? I can turn off the movie if you want me too." He offered, panicky. Finally the stitcher spoke, but when she did the words came out raw and real like her relationship with Cameron.

"What did I do?"

"What are you talking about?"

"What I did I do, to get my mind stuck on you?" She stuttered. She felt paralyzed by all of this emotion that was being thrown at her. She felt like she was being electrocuted. All Cameron did was smile though. Then he cupped her cheeks and brought her closer to him.

"You did nothing Buttercup. I think Cupid made a visit, don't you agree?" He gave her one of his signature goofy smiles. She also loved how he explained it like she was 6 and wouldn't understand it any other way. It was adorable. But in the end all she did was nod. And then she let her love for him take over and slid her fingers through his messy chocolate curls and planted her lips and his. With every move they made, they melted into each other. Their kisses became addicting, they waited so long for this moment and finally it was here.

They knew their love was going to be stuck in each other's heads for a long time.
