Episode 6

Layla continued to film the performance with a grin on her face. After spanning the camera back to the stage, she zoomed the camera to a full view of the whole group. The cheers from the crowd continued to grow as Layla joined in. 

Her eyes scanned the stage then paused for a moment. A girl on the right caught her attention. Even though she wasn't in the centre, the girl held a strong level of confidence and charisma. Layla gawped in aura of the girl. 

"Hey... can I transfer to your uni?" Layla's intrusive thoughts were let out. 

"Huh?" Athena laughed at the sudden suggestion.

Ethan nudged Layla, "I thought you were already dating someone." 

"Ah her..." Layla hesitated for a second. "We broke up a while ago"

Phelium, Athena and Ethan turned in unison.

Layla laughed off the silence, "It's okay, I feel much better now." 

Ethan cleared his throat and looked back to the front.

"As long as you're happy that's good."

Athena nodded. 

Phelium looked over at Ethan, "By any chance..."

Ethan caught on to Phelium's thought. "No way bro-" He grimaced and slapped Phelium's arm. 

Phelium scoffed at Ethan's reaction.

At the end of the performance, the group waited outside the venue for Brooklyn.

"Brooklyn! Here!" Layla shouted while spreading her arms in big waves.

Brooklyn jogged towards them and gave small hugs to the girls.

There was a soft silence in the air when she finally made eye contact with Phelium. 

Ethan scratched the back of his head, "Uhh.. you guys hungry? Let's go eat somewhere" he suggested in an attempt to ease the awkwardness.

"yeah let's go!" Layla agreed and pushed Athena and Ethan to the front with her. 

As they walked along the streets filled with food places, Brooklyn and Phelium followed the other three in silence. 

What's wrong with you!? Phelium thought to himself. Say something you idiot

He tightly clenched his fists.

"How have you been?"

Phelium tightened his jaw in regret. Is that really all you could say? He scolded himself.

"Good, I guess." Brooklyn had a distant look in her eyes as if she was reflecting over the past two years. "A lot has happened"

Phelium was at a loss for words. He remained silent while they continued to walk forwards. Then  his footsteps came to a slow stop. 

Noticing the absence of Phelium's footsteps, she paused and turned back to look at him.

"Actually.."

Brooklyn looked at Phelium's expression. He finally looked up from his feet and made eye contact with her.

"I missed you a lot..."

Brooklyn's eyes widened in surprise at the words he just spoke.
