Episode 9

The Next Day...

Phelium glared at his phone screen, it was 5:00am. Dropping his phone by his pillow he sighed, there were no messages from Brooklyn.

Flashbacks from the day before left him with some feelings of regret. Was I too much? I don't even know what to do now...

Having enough of his loud and endless thoughts, Phelium leaped out of bed and went out for a morning run. 

It was summer and the sky was already sunlit with a light airy breeze. Phelium took a deep breath in, enjoying the momentary peace. 

As he continued to run down the street a van came up slowly nearing towards him. 

Without warning, the doors abruptly opened and he felt a pair of arms drag him into the vehicle. 

Next thing he knew he found himself surrounded by the sound of waves, sand beneath his feet and the vast view of the horizon.

"What the..."

Phelium took a moment to process the situation.

Ethan looked at him with a mischevious and somewhat proud grin.  

Everyone was here. Layla and Athena were already setting up the tables and bbq set, while Ethan handed him a heavier bag with all the food.

He patted his shoulder, "Time to help out bro"

Phelium scoffed, "When did you guys plan this all out?"

Ethan looked at him with a slightly serious look, "Thats not the important part..."

"Oh, you're here!" Ethan and the girls were waving at someone. 

Phelium turned around. 

"Brooklyn" 

Feeling rather stupid, all he could do was stare at her. 

Ethan looked at Phelium, amused, and laughed slightly.

Layla and Athena screamed loudly as they ran across the beach towards the water. Ethan shortly ran after them and made the first attack with a big kick of water.  Watching from a distance, Brooklyn smiled as she watched them. 

Phelium silently looked at Brooklyn and smiled. 

"Let's go" 

"Huh?" 

Phelium gently grabbed Brooklyn's wrist and started to run towards the others. As if everything around them became muted, the moment felt slow. Turning to look at Brooklyn, a few words left his mouth in silence. Brooklyn was left in surprise as they ran but seeing the wide smile on his face contagiously made Brooklyn laugh as well.

Undisclosed scene:

As the group sat on the sand, calmly listening to the sound of the waves, Ethan came back holding a bunch of sparklers.Ethan grinned as he handed everyone a pair of sparklers. 

"We gotta finish all of these before we go back"

Everyone exchanged looks of excitement as they lit up the sparklers and watched the little sparks fly around. The sky was already scattered with pinkish clouds and a warm amber hue was touching the horizon of the ocean. 

The sound of rushed  footsteps approached the group.

"Hey, guys! Sorry we're late."

Everyone turned to look over at the new voice. Finn was standing there before them, but there was another person right behind him. 

Recognising the person, someone in the group had already stepped forwards to greet them with a smile.
