Micky couldn't hide his excitement! Mike offered to drive him over to Ashley's place. (Mike didn't really want Micky driving in the state he was in).

Peter and Davy stayed at home. They gave Micky the thumbs up as they watched them drive away.

"Micky, I know you are excited and everything," Mike said, his voice going serious. "But, do you mind me asking, what are you hoping will happen when you see Ashley?"

Micky looked over at Mike.

"I really don't know!" He honestly said. "I mean, it's not like in the movies is it, where the guy goes after the girl, and they stay together forever! Life doesn't let you have those moments!"

Mike nodded, he understood what Micky meant.

Micky sighed.

"I guess I shall just tell her about how we met as kids, and if she has to go to London, maybe we could stay in touch?"

"Let's just see what happens when you see her!" Mike assured his friend.

But, as they arrived at the house, they saw a couple of police cars parked outside. As Mike pulled up, him and Micky both looked at each other.

They stepped out off the car. Margaret was standing at the front door, talking to some policemen. When she saw Mike and Micky walking up the path, she pushed passed the policemen and stormed over to the boys!

"I hope you know something about this?" She cried, glaring at the two!

The boys shook their heads.

"What has happened?" Mike asked.

"It's Ashley!" Margaret told him. "She's disappeared!"

Mike and Micky both looked at each other! The look on their faces told Margaret that this was a first for them.

"When?" Micky asked.

"She didn't come down for breakfast, and when I went to check on her, her bedroom was empty!"

A policeman walked over and asked Mike and Micky if they were friends of Ashley's.

"Yes, yes we are!" Mike told him.

"Do you mind if I asked you some questions?"

"Not at all!" Mike said.

"When did you see her last?"

Micky stepped forward.

"I saw her last night after the party!"

"You did!" Both Mike and Margaret asked!

"She was pretty upset about moving back to London," Micky told the policeman. "She asked if we could meet up after the party. We met at the beach, spoke for a couple of hours, but she left home around 2:00am!"

Margaret then said that she had heard Ashley come in around half past 2, much to Mike's relief! He didn't know what would happen if Micky was suddenly taken away for more questioning.

"And you haven't heard from her since?"

Mike and Micky both shook their heads. They promised that if they heard or saw Ashley they would immediately get in contact.

Mike sensed that they were no longer needed and gently tugged Micky away.

"Let's go home. Who knows, maybe Ashley might be there?"
