As The Monkees played to the crowd, Ashley watched from backstage. She thought they were really good. She liked the music. It was very upbeat and kind of hard not to stand still too. The audience were back up on the dance floor, and even Mary was having a little dance behind the bar.

When the boys had finished, Bill ushered them over to his private table. There they could sit back and watch the next act in peace. The lights dimmed and one spotlight lit up a figure on the stage.

It was a young woman, wearing a long black jacket over a white top and black jeans. Her hair was tied up with a black rose, which sparkled when it caught the light. The young woman had her eyes done a lovely style, black eyeshadow with black eyeliner. But, her face gave a lovely pale look. The whole room was in silence as she began to sing a cover of Dusty Springfield's song You Don't Have To Say You Love Me.

Peter, Mike, Micky and Davy could not take their eyes off her. She was beautiful. And her voice was so different to what they normally heard. Suddenly, Davy leaned over to Micky and nudged him in the ribs.

"Hey, Micky, isn't that that waitress you were talking to before?"

Micky stared at her. He hadn't recognised her with this style. Before, she was just in a casual set of clothes and not wearing much makeup. She was pretty when he'd seen her before, now she was absolutely gorgeous!

"Are you sure she's a waitress?" Mike asked, looking from Ashley to Micky. Only Micky didn't answer. He just couldn't take his eyes off Ashley!

Davy grinned at his friends. Normally it was him who was practically head over heels in love with a girl. It was obvious that they would be dragged over by Micky to go see her after the show!
