Chapter 34 - Grounded

"Why are you sa hard-headed?!" I was shocked when Kuya Calli dropped his car key's with force onto the table. Nagulat ako because this is also the first time i heard him shout. Well he's really damn mad.

"Kuya-"

"Queenie, I'm doing this to protect you" He said calmer now, cutting me off. He sat onto the couch and grabbed his keys again to play it in his hands.

I get it. Every brother would react like this. And I kinda imagined this before. Nung ma-realize kong I already like Dos, this scenario would always show up on my mind, maybe even harsher than this.

"I know that, Kuya" I sat beside him.

"And yet you still did it." He started to look frustrated again. Sumandal siya sa sofa and turned his head on me. "Tell me honestly, lumalabas ba kayo?" I got nervous by his question but there's no point of lying anymore.

I nodded my head and looked away.

I heard him sigh.

"Damn it!"

And then there's silence. Silence that's so loud it's deafening.

I heard him sigh again at padabog siyang tumayo and he faced me.

"Sinuway mo si Dad, he already made it clear to you before!" He burst again but this time with an accusing tone. "No boyfriend until graduation, Queenie!" He reminded me using Dad's Voice and damn it gave me goosebumps. Parang narinig ko si Dad from him.

He even pointed at me. I took a deep breathe.

As if makakalimutan ko, of course I could never forget that. I remained seated na parang batang napapagalitan. Maybe I am a batang napapagalitan.

"Kayo na ba? Officially?" He fired again. Seriously, ngayon ko lang nakita ang side ni Kuya na ganito. He seems to wanna talk a lot today, huh.

"Not yet" I looked down because I feel like every word coming out of my mouth is a gas adding to the flame.

"But you already went to a date with him. I didn't know you were sneaking out Solana. Layuan mo siya." He said with finality and I had to stand up.

"What? No! Kuya, I know you're single but it doesn't mean I have to be single too!"

Oops!

His frustrated face became blank. I shouldn't have said that. Ang stupid, Sola!

"You're grounded." He said still with a blank expression.

"You can't ground me, you're not Papa!" Pagrarason ko. He can't ground me. No way!

"You wouldn't want Papa to know about this, trust me."

He walked away and left me standing. Buti nalang at walang ibang tao dito sa bahay. His last words somehow made me feel better. At least alam ko na wala siyang balak ipaalam kay Papa.

I wiped a sweat in my forehead I didn't know that I had at saka pumasok sa kwarto ko.

That was just Kuya Calli, Astro would be worse. Lalo na si Papa!

Pabagsak akong nahiga sa kama. That went out better than what I've imagined. Or maybe kasi sa imagination ko, sabay-sabay silang tatlo.

I opened my phone and replied sa mga friends ko,  they're looking for me. Sa sobrang panic ko kasi kanina hindi na ako nakapag-paalam sa kanila.

Another message popped up and it was from Dos.

Dos: kamusta? ok ka lang?

Siya dapat ang tanungin ko niyan. Kuya Calli left without saying anything, what if saktan niya si Dos.
