Halatang halatang inggetero, as if deprived of public affection.
Possible. Considering may tinatawag pa siyang "baby" kanina, baka hallucinations dahil sa alak.
"Baka ako, teh," tawa ni Teby, and that made all of us laugh. Classic behaviour.
Kasi the moment na nag-start yung intro, I literally closed my eyes. Boom. Gone. Logged out. System shut down.
"Tulog na siya," rinig kong sabi ni Jeirlyn when I woke up. I blinked a few times, confused. The TV was off. The girls were gone. I looked at the clock and it's already 1:00 AM.
Oh wow. I actually slept like that? Sa gitna ng sala like a corpse, while everyone is literally gone.
So I peeked outside and saw them drinking coffee.
"Hey."
Dos smiled at me, and my brain literally froze. As in blue screen.
...and closed the door.
How dare they! Betrayal. Abandonment. Treason. Unconstitutional behaviour.
"Late na. Bakit andito ka pa?" tanong ko once my brain started functioning again.
He turned his back to get a monoblock, and since he wasn't facing me, I grabbed the precious moment to fix my hair at the speed of lightning. Because obviously, I looked like a half-alive sheep from sleeping.
"Si Pete ang huli kong inihatid, kaya dumaan muna ako," he explained.
I thanked him for bringing my cousin home safely. He nodded.
"Nalasing ka ba?" he asked.
I shook my head quickly. "Isang wine lang ang nainom namin." I pointed at the bottle na nasa gilid ng terrace. Who get's drunk in a bottle of wine?
And that line... hit me weirdly.
Part of me wanted to say, "Uhmm, hindi ako obligated magreply all the time?"
Pero another part, aka the part na may several unpaid emotional bills for him, knew that if Teby didn't confiscate our phones earlier... I probably would've replied. Immediately. Like a loyal houseplant.
Silence took over because I didn't know how to respond. I don't know what to say becuase if I open my mouth right now, I might sound mean. And for the first time in my life, I actually found it awkward.
Questions piled up inside me.
