Niko was a very chill person if you asked him, he wasn't one for dramatics. He was respectful, kind, generous, tall. Niko was charming, he could cook semi well, he was rich too. Now he wasn't one to brag but he was rather perfect. Niko wasn't sure if there was anything anyone could do to change his mind.

Until...

"Niko." Aj called from the living room, slouching on the sofa. "I'm gonna have a friend stay over for a month. Hope you don't mind."

Oh, Niko minded.

He minded so hard he almost dropped the mug of hot chocolate in his hand.

Why did Aj need a friend at their house? Who the hell was this friend, why had they never been mentioned before? All of Aj's friends were his friends too, so who the heck was this son of a- this- This- prick to stay in their home?!

More importantly, why did Niko feel like something precious was being taken from him?

Niko leaned against the doorway, folding his arms. "What friend is this?" He asked, squinting at the shorter man.

Aj glanced up from his phone, unphased. "Oh his name is Alex. He's a childhood friend, helped me settle in school before his family moved. We kept in touch."

Niko held the urge to roll his eyes, instead scratching this inside of his palms with his nails. Was Aj seriously about to start this? He hated people and now he was about to invite an unnecessary one into their house.

And of course it was a childhood friend. That scenario had nostalgia drenched reminiscence and rose tinted blast to the pasts written all over it.

"And he's staying here? With us?"

Aj shrugged. "Just for a month, he's got a work thing in London and I told him he could crash here. You know how hotel prices are nowadays, I figured you wouldn't mind."

"No." Niko said flatly.

"What do you mean no?" Aj blinked.

"I mean, no, I don't want a rando coming into our house." Niko said, his voice thick with annoyance.

Aj let out a short laugh in disbelief. "But he isn't a rando. I told you he's an old friend."

Niko wasn't sure why Aj was so held up on having this 'friend' come and live with them. It was honestly offensive, that Niko wasn't a good enough housemate in Aj's opinion that he needed another person to live with.

"Yeah well I don't know him. And this is my house too."

Aj clenched his jaw, huffing out a small breath. "Oh so now you care about boundaries? Cause when you're the one going over mine, you don't seem to care all that much."

That hurt Niko more than he expected it to. It was visible too, with the way his eyes widened and how he swallowed a lump in his throat. "I'm just saying it's strange that you're inviting people into our house without discussing it with me first."

"Isn't that what we're doing now?!" Aj asked, his voice raising as he sat up straight. "But apparently you've already made up your mind."

"I just don't see why we need somebody else. You and me is enough right?" Niko's voice faltered towards the end of his sentence, clear that he was unsure of the answer himself.

Aj stared at him for a moment too long. Conflicted. "You think me inviting someone else to our house means we aren't enough?"

"I think..." Niko said, speaking slower. "That I didn't expect you to bring someone else into our house without warning."
