Chapter 23 - Want U Back

RINA'S POV

Di kailanman nasagi sa isipan ko na mapunta sa sitwasyon na ganito. Nakaupo kaming lahat sa isang lunch table but no one dared to speak.

Awkwardness to the highest level. Mata lang namin ang gumagalaw aside sa attempt na pagkain ng iba. Hindi ko nga malasahan ang spaghetti na inorder ko.

"So guys, how are you? It has been what? 2 or 3 years ba?"

Still no one dared to answer her.

"Uy! Are you that surprised to see me here? Haha. Mike? You've always been the noisy guy of the group, lost your tongue today?"

"And Louis, haven't changed, still the mysterious man. How's Cheska?"

I felt Trisha froze beside me when Cheska was mentioned. Kahit pala sya affected din sa nangyayari ngayon.

"And of course, Jake..." she faced Jake na katabi nya ngayon.. "it has been a long time, namiss kita... sobra."

She attempted to get her face closer but Jake moved his face the opposite side.

"Anyways, I can see na may new addition sa group natin.. and you are?" she pointed to Trisha.

Naramdaman ko na naman na biglang na tense si Trisha. I saw how she curled her two hands into a fist on top of her lap. Instead of answering, she just stared at her blankly.

We have the same sentiment, we hate the girl in front of us.

Sheena Lee.

Why is she back? Bakit ngayon pa? Walangya ang timing nya. Napaka walang hiya! Nananadya ba to?

"She is Trisha Mendoza, cousin of Rina and has been part of us somehow."

Nagulat kami pareho ni Trisha ng marinig ang pagsagot ni Louis.

"Really? hi, Trish. I'm Shee.."

"Kilala ka na rin nya. Di na kailangan yan." Louis continued interrupting Sheena's introduction.

"So Rina...kamusta naman ang bestfriend ng Jake ko?"

Kung maka angkin ka, sabunutan kita jan eh. Kanina pa ako nagtitimpi dito.

I just stared at her, contemplating if I need to respond or ignore her just like the rest.

Then biglang tumayo si Jake at mabilis na umalis palabas ng lunchroom. It's evident on his face na he is pissed and confused.

Nabigla naman ako ng biglang tumayo din si Sheena at hinabol si Jake. I was about to follow him when I felt Trisha's hand.

"Rin, hayaan mo muna sila. They need to talk." napatingin lang ako sa lahat, they just nodded telling me to stay.

Napaupo na lang ako ulit at sinubukang ubusin ang kinakain ko.. Tama ba na hayaan ko lang sila? Paano kung ma realize ni Jake na all this time, si Sheena pa rin talaga.

~School Garden~

"Jake wait!"

Huminto si Jake at hinarap si Sheena na kanina pa naghahabol sa kanya.

"What is this Sheen?!" halata sa mukha ni Jake ang galit na nadarama sa dalaga.

"I'm back! Hindi ka ba masaya?"

"Masaya? Hah. Masaya na sana talaga eh pero bumalik ka pa. Bumalik ka pa talaga!"

"But Jake, please don't be like that. I know you still like me. Galit ka lang coz I left you but I'm here now. We could get back together."

Pilit na lumalapit si Sheena at akmang yayakap kay Jake pero hindi ito hinayaan ng binata.

"Fvck Sheen! Are you out of your mind? Do you think babalik pa ako sayo after all that happened?"

Nahilamos lang ni Jake ang kamay nya sa kanyang mukha. It is obvious that he is really feeling frustrated right now.

"Let me explain. I have my reasons why I left. Please Jake.."

"Save it! I don't need to hear your lies. I've had enough. Tanga lang ang maniniwala pa sa'yo."

Tinalikuran na sya ni Jake at nagsimula ng maglakad pabalik ng school.

"Is this all about Rina? Kayo na ba? Did she steal you from me completely?"

Napahinto si Jake when she mentioned Rina's name.

"Wag mong madamay-damay si Rina dito. You don't have the right na makialam sa amin."

"Kaya ba magkasama kayo sa music room kanina. I saw how sweet you were.. ano na si Rina sayo Jake? Bestfriends lang kayo diba?"

Nagsimula ng pumatak ang mga luha ni Sheena.

"She found a way to bring me back together, when you... left me broken and I love her, siya lang. Wala ng ikaw Sheena. Matagal ng walang tayo... So please stop this nonsense now."

At tuluyan ng umalis palayo si Jake, naiwan si Sheena na ngayo'y nakaupo lang sa may pavement, umiiyak. Dama nya ang sobrang pagsisisi sa pag-iwan sa lalaking kailanman ay hindi nawala sa puso nya.

"Jake...please...I want you back..please.."
