Charlie sat on the edge of one of the prison bed. It was a bunk bed, but it looked like no one except him was in the cell. Just like an individual cell, it was such a spacious and great place that they had given him.
Yesterday morning after he was interrogated they brought him into this cell. On the way he realized the interrogation with Mr. Rasoli had been conducted in one of the prison interview rooms. He waited around in the cell all yesterday afternoon, but no one came for him. All afternoon he waited for a soldier to open his gray cell door. To take him by the metal manacles around his hands and guide him to the interrogation room. He wondered if he was going to go face to face with Mr. Rasoli again.
But no one come for him! Maybe they had forgotten him! This idea only occurred to him half an hour before bedtime. Half an hour later, after lights out he realized he couldn't sleep at all though he needed to sleep very much. Finally, when he did fall asleep, he was plagued by horrible nightmares that made him wish for insomnia!
In his dream Debra was going to leave him again because he was imprisoned again. He saw his mother who constantly rebuked him and whispered under her breath: "I wish I'd never had a son like you!" At the same time he saw Mr. Rasoli – who Charlie suddenly found had been promoted in the last five years and was now him – ask the prosecutors to consider execution or at least life imprisonment for him. The prosecutors in his dream pointed at him accusingly, people in the court encouraged the prosecutors then chanted slogans against Charlie. The slogans echoed in Charlie's ears as he woke up from the nightmares, uneasy.
His body was sweating. When he looked at the prison clothes in his cell he felt he was going to vomit. At that moment he believed he was going to be in prison until he died, and the condemnation days started from now! Seeing the prison clothes made it more real. He wanted to go back to sleep but against his wishes he just couldn't.
Later they would come for him and take him for another interrogation. During his struggles to sleep, he wished that Christopher would tell everything he knew to Mr. Rasoli and the police. The only hope for Charlie was to prove to Mr. Rasoli that Daevas and Peris are real, that was it! Their pact of brotherhood made Charlie sure Christopher would say everything he knew and not refuse any attempt to help him. This thought turned on the light of hope in his heart.
He was thinking about this issue when the door opened. The young soldier was in the entrance of the door. He said to him: "Come out, Arman."
Charlie obeyed without a word. Before the solider said anything, just like a good and obedient prisoner, he stood beside the door and raised his hand up. He waited for the handcuffs on his hands. The soldier as he took the handcuffs from his belt said: "Don't think I want to put these bracelets on your hands. The fucking rules said it. Otherwise I think this is an embarrassment for terrorists if you're one of their members."
He finished his sentences without any smile. It seemed he believed it wholeheartedly. As he took and locked the handcuffs on Charlie's hands, Charlie read the soldier's name on his badge: "Brayan Naderi."
When the handcuff came down tight on his wrists Charlie smiled and said to Mr. Naderi: "I hope your boss has the same idea."
Mr. Naderi frowned but he didn't answer Charlie. He closed the cell door then took Charlie's arm and guided him to the end of the corridor stairs. After passing through the corridor they reached another corridor. The brown door in the middle of this corridor looked familiar to Charlie's eyes. The distance between his prison and the interrogation room was just two corridors! When they arrived at the interrogation room they stopped behind the door and then as Naderi looked at the camera above the door with a stern voice he said: "I have the prisoner Charlie Arman."
