Mr. Rasoli looked back and said: "Did you expect something else? Maybe you still haven't noticed, you're caught in quite a predicament!? If I can't prove you killed anybody, at least after disrupting national security, creating public panic and working with terrorists, execution will be the least of your punishment."
After a short pause he added: "If I were you, I'd talk. Maybe your cooperation with the police might get you a little deal in your sentencing."
Charlie without thinking asked: "Deal?!"
Mr. Rasoli, who thought Charlie wanted to speak with him now, took a few steps toward him and said: "Yes, deal. But it depends what type of information you're going to tell us."
A stupid smile appeared on Charlie's lips, most likely out of stupidity and fear.
He asked: "Information? What should I talk about?"
A grim smile came to Mr. Rasoli's lips, though in fact he didn't like what he heard. A feeling came into his mind saying "Charlie doesn't really want to talk," so without saying another word he went back toward the door. He looked at the CCTV and said: "Open the..."
But before he could complete his sentence Charlie said: "I'll talk."
Mr. Rasoli returned. He saw Charlie half stand up and lift up his manacled hands. He continued: "I'll tell you everything. Everything that I saw."
He didn't think any more and his mind was empty. A voice in his mind commanded him to speak.
Mr. Rasoli went to the front of desk, put his hand in the pocket of his navy pants and brought out a few keys. He chose one of them and pulled Charlie's hands to his side, then put the key into the handcuff lock. He opened the handcuff and said: "According to the law, persons who are under eighteen years old during the interrogation shouldn't have handcuffs."
He put the handcuffs onto the table and as he sat back in the chair added: "You can complain if you want. Against the person who brought you to the interrogation room with handcuffs. Surely according to the law he will be punished."
Charlie was surprised! Mr. Rasoli's voice tone had changed in the past five years and Charlie felt it clearly! Nevertheless, he sat in the chair and without caring about Mr. Rasoli's speech said: "First of all, tell me what kind of deal you can get me?"
Mr. Rasoli calmly said: "It depends on what kind of information you're going to tell us!"
Charlie was not convinced by his answer. "I'm going to tell you everything."
Mr. Rasoli replied: "Easy to say! It's your actions that are important."
He paused shortly and then continued: "Let me tell you the truth, Mr. Arman. This is not the USA! You know if you kill somebody there, depending on the type of murder, you only spend five or six years in prison and if you're a good boy in prison you will come out after two or three years...but here is not the USA. The punishment for murder is execution. If you kill someone, the law punishes you with justice. Justice is nothing except your death! I tell you this to know you can't be forgiven after saying a few words."
Charlie wanted to stop his talking but Mr. Rasoli raised his voice and said: "If you believe in life after death, you should know there is punishment for sinners. So tell us the truth and be lighter and easier in the next world."
He was speaking like a priest! But Charlie couldn't detect any lies or deceit in his voice. He spoke as a person who really believed and had faith in the world after this world. Charlie had no choice but to speak. He needed to say everything he seen. Although he was not very hopeful. Five years ago he told Mr. Rasoli everything he had seen but he didn't believe him. He was almost the only one who didn't believe his words. But this time remaining silent would be signing his own death warrant. An unknown voice from his mind said "speaking is better than silence." Should he trust this voice?
Charlie struggled with himself, and finally he began to tell him what he had seen. He told it from the beginning. His date with Debra in the restaurant. Christopher coming and the mess he caused in the restaurant. Speaking with Christopher in the car and every sentence between him and Christopher. The story of the supermarket and the Daevas killed by two Peris whose names were Merila and Ava. His running out from the supermarket and being chased by Daevas. His refuge in the park at the end of Iman Street and meeting the queen of the Peris. Finally, he told him about killing a Daeva who wanted to kill him and the queen of the Peris.
Finally, it was over. He said everything, from beginning to end. After saying these words, he feel relieved. Although the face of Mr. Rasoli didn't show any surprise. When as Charlie began to tell the story he just stared at him comfortably. He never even interrupted during the story. He didn't ask any questions and didn't act surprised. And when the last sentence came out of Charlie's mouth he leaned forward on the table and calmly said: "That was pretty funny!"
