Charlie didn't care to hear the sounds coming from Doctor Afshar anymore. He was still telling his lies, but Charlie just stared, then took a peek at the black shadow in the door. The shadow stood in a position that showed frustration with Doctor Afshar's lies. But he endured them inevitably! Sometimes the shadow moved. It seemed he wanted to enter the room and close the doctor's big mouth with his hand and then take him out of the cell by his boot. But when he was going to do it, he just stopped!
The doctor finished his false story with this sentence: "Yes, my son learned he should be realistic and not hope a lot for this passerby's love. Well, Charlie, it is something I want you to do, too. You believe me, right?"
Charlie chose silence to answer the doctor's waiting face. The act that he had seen from Christopher! For a few moments he felt like Christopher. At least his silence and taciturnity was in imitation of Christopher. However, he thought, five years ago he was in the same state for a few months until Debra saved him...
No! He could not continue his thought. He didn't want to think about the name of someone who played with him! He didn't want to think about someone who took money to play with him! So he cleared his mind and stared at the doctor. Doctor Afshar was disappointed at Charlie's silence so he nodded and put his hand in the left pocket of his white coat. He took out his flashlight and with a friendly voice said: "Charlie, I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to inspect you. Can you understand me?"
Charlie didn't answer again, and even turned his gaze away from the doctor. But the doctor considered his act an agreement and turned his small flashlight on. But before he shined this light into Charlie's eyes, he stood up and moved in front of Charlie. He bent a little and then shined that light in Charlie's right and then left eye. He did it as if Charlie was a concussion patient!
He turned off the flashlight and as he picked up his bag from the side of the bed said: "I don't think you have a serious problem. I mean you are good in physical terms but mentally–" he looked at the yellow diary again, "you should practice to solve your problems. But if you don't solve your problem within the next twenty-four hours just let me know. Tell the guard to call me. I'll be here soon. I hope you do it. However, if you need someone to talk with...Charlie."
As he said his last sentence he turned back and took a step toward the entrance of the door. When he arrived there he turned to the shadow. Charlie could just see half of the shadow's body. The doctor whispered to the shadow: "Trauma. I found it when I looked him. You should try to speak with him. Any way you can. A false emotion or an event could take him out of this situation. But I don't recommend doing it now. Maybe he will want to come out from this situation by himself. Someone who lost in love feels a deep hate in his heart... on the other hand, maybe this feeling will return Charlie to the first state of his incarceration. I highly recommend you don't allow him any bad news, and if its possible don't interrogate him anymore. Can you understand his special state?!"
Charlie saw the shadow nod to show his agreement. Doctor Afshar nodded too and took a step away from the shadow. When the sound of the doctor's footsteps grew quiet the black shadow came into the cell. Major Rasoli, who was listening to the doctor like a shadow, entered the cell. His face seemed very upset and sad. His face was even more distressed than during this morning's meeting with Charlie's lawyer. However he make a false laugh on his lips and stared at the Charlie.
Charlie turned his gaze from the Major and stared at the wall again. Mr. Rasoli's face was something he couldn't stand. Especially when he had a really bad headache after his arrival. Maybe this headache was because of his insomnia or fainting, but Charlie believed it was because of Major Rasoli's fateful coming!
