Chapter 17
Sunshine's POV
One Week Later
It's been one week since I started living in this place and I am growing to love it more and more it's starting to feel more like home, but I have decided that I can't just be locked up in this place forever and it's time to go out and do something other than watch true crime shows and bob's burgers for the rest of my life. After taking a shower and getting dressed I made my way down to the parking structure noticing the security guard, I smiled feeling somewhat safer until I heard him call me "Mrs. Salvatore what just a moment I have this letter for you" right then I started to feel a little panicked and looked at the letter in his hand and took it seeing the return address from Gavin's attorney and sighed probably another letter saying Gavin didn't sign the divorce papers. Opening the envelope I looked at Derek "My name is Kat Derek I've told you that please don't call me that" I said quietly so no one else can hear us and he just shook his head "I'm sorry miss sometimes I forget", giggling I opened the letter and was so shocked to discover an American Express credit card with the name Sunshine Salvatore attached to it and a small handwritten note that said "I love you my beautiful wife there is no limit of my love for you so there shouldn't for you love you HUSBAND Gavin".
Immediately I could feel my body start to shake and my palms getting sweaty, how in the hell did he get a card in prison let alone get one for me I just looked at this heavy card just angry at how he could think I would ever use his money like as if I was some gold digger. I don't understand why he can't just let me go, after everything he has put me through with this sick obsession I hejust want a normal life. I refuse to let him think he still has any power over me. He can't touch me ever again, right?
Driving through downtown LA is still so painful sometimes, driving passed places Gavin took me too and how I still can't shake the feeling that I am being watched but I keep reminding myself that Gavin is still in jail and if he ever gets out I will get notified by the courts at least. After a long drive I pull into the mall parking lot and made sure to park near the closes exist just in case, as I turned off the car my phone started to ring. Looking at the screen I noticed the caller ID was unrecognized and hesitantly I decide to answer it, "Hello?" I said softly hoping the person on the other end doesn't hear me. But for some reason I don't hear anything on the other end, "Hello? Is there anyone there?" I said a little louder but still dead silence. For some reason I just had a feeling who is on the other end of the phone but I am to scared to admit it, somehow I find the courage to say one thing "Gavin?" before a soft chuckle was made before they hung up the phone.
