Ok hi guys! Finally, right? I know man. I did y'all so wrong. Lo siento.
This isn't the long chapter. My creative juices are just not hitting this week but I wanted to give you guys something at least. I'll try again and make it longer for next week. Write a little each day this week.
Please enjoy and excuse any mistakes.
Naomi's POV
I moved around the kitchen as I made a snack for the kids. I hummed and danced quietly when I thought I saw something move out the corner of my eye.
"The hell..." I trailed off as I looked around but didn't see anything.
I was leaning against the island when I felt something small and furry scurry across my foot. I've never jumped up so fast in my life.
"What the fuck is that?!" I yelled as I settled on my kitchen island. I don't like cursing so much but I'm valid in this moment.
I'm starting to itch because an excessive amount of stress makes me feel like I'm breaking out in hives. I grabbed my phone to call Jayson because unfortunately he's not home right now.
"What happened?" Chayse came in the kitchen.
"Get up here. I think there's a rat in here."
Jayson didn't pick up and my face screwed up in distress because I'm the only adult here. Who is going to save me from this horrible event?! Maybe I should call the police.
Chayse started laughing to himself. My head snapped in his direction because what is so funny about his mom on the verge of a panic attack?
"It's not a rat mommy. That's Earl."
And who in the hell is Earl???
"Who?" I asked.
"Earl is Camari's guinea pig." He bent down and picked up the thing. "See? Say hi Earl."
"Why is it in my house, where did it come from, and- matter fact." I got down and yelled for my youngest son. "Camari Ade! Get in here now!"
He ran in here and smiled. "Hi mommy." He beamed then his eyes landed on the rodent and his smile dropped. "Bye mommy." He turned to walk away.
"Come here. Now." His head hung low as he walked over to me. "Why is that in here? Where did it even come from?"
"Pops got it for me." He spoke lowly still not making eye contact.
"Pops?" Jayson's dad. The kids don't see him as often as they do their other grandparents so Justin isn't aware that Jay and I didn't want Cam having this pet.
"When did you get it?" I asked.
"Two days ago."
"How didn't I see this thing? I've been in your room."
"I hid him in my closet. Please don't take him away mommy." He looked up at me with his hands around my arm. "I'll take care of him. I promise." His cute eyes are pleading with me.
"Come back Grey!" Journey's voice was drawing closer and I saw a ball rolling in here.
"There's no way in HELL you have two in here!" I'm beyond upset.
"Guinea pigs need to be in twos. They get sad and lonely." Cam explained.
"Oh that makes sense. They can be a duo back at the pet store." I said and grabbed my phone to call their dad. "Did all of you know about these animals?"
"Uh huh. I want one mommy." Journey smiled at me.
"No." I leaned against the counter and sighed loudly. "Can you please take those things out of here? All of you go and do something. I need a minute to think."
