Previously:That was never going to happen I knew it. My parents still lived in a time where they had no children sometimes I wondered why they even had us. Was it because they thought we would fill up the holes that work couldn’t? I learned to raise myself to never get my hopes up so high but Alijah he still had that side where he waits by the door hoping his parents will show up the day they said they would.I sat by the fireplace and I stared at the flames. I felt a soft fabric brush my cheek. I glance to my side and I see Jeydon wiping the tears that were slipping from my cheeks. He brought my head to his shoulder and we both stared at the flames quietly.“Want to talk about?” He asked.i shook my head. “Not yet” I whispered.
“How do you do it?” I asked Jeydon glancing up at him.
“Do what?” He responded staring back at me.
I pushed myself to the side and I crossed my legs and faced him. “Deal with your dad never being home?”
Jeydon stayed quiet, he stared at the ground and shrugged. “I really never paid attention I was so used to it. I mean he was never around he never showed up for anything important. I just started to block him little by little”
“But after your parents split up did he change?” I was begging for an answer. I needed something to reassured me my parents weren’t going to bail on Alijah and I again.
“Aldabella, your parents care even if they don’t show it” He smiled.
I stayed quiet, he had just called me by my real name. I felt that knot I dreaded so much form in the bottom of my stomach.
“Y-You called me A-Aldab-b-ella” I stuttered. Jeydon glanced at me confusedly. “Isn’t that your name?’
I nodded. “But you always call me Bella” I responded standing up.
He rolled his eyes. “I heard Alijah say your full name right now”
I gulped. He had to know it was me he had to. But why was he so calm, so ease. If I knew the guy I broke up with three years ago was in front me I would’ve gone crazy but Jeydon sat stood there staring me oddly.
“Are you okay?” He questioned grabbing my hand. I nodded. “I think Janely called me” I lied.
Jeydon grabs my hand and he pulls me towards him. His cold breathe hits my face and my knees quickly go weak.
“No she didn’t” He whispered brushing his lips against my cheek. His dark black eyes stared at me and I felt as they saw right through me.
“I-I think she did” I stuttered. He shook his head. “No, she didn’t” He said again.
Jeydon hand wraps around my waist and he pulls me closer until my body was against his. He smiles at me softly and he brings my hand up with his.
“Lets dance” He said spinning me around.
I catch my breathe and I stare at him. “There’s no music” I responded. He grabs the control and turns on the radio. He smirks at me.
“Now there is” I smile laying my hand on his shoulder why his hand landed on my waist. We slowly sway to the music, our eyes met and they never looked away.
“Your beautiful” He mouths. I look away as my cheeks turned light red. I lay my head on his shoulder and we keep dancing slowly. I close my eyes getting lost with the music.
It had been so long that I had been able to hold him. He still smelled the same as I remembered. The scent of vanilla always drove me crazy. I couldn’t help but to smile like an idiot.
