Chapter 5

"It's been too long since we last came here." Malakai groaned, before stuffing a large chocolate muffin his face. I watched, impressed by his ferocity and picking up the egg sandwich I had ordered and taking a bite.

Ilyanna scoffed, flicking a breadcrumb at him. "You came here the day before yesterday. That's hardly as long as you make it seem."

"Even a day is too long." Anokan butted in, cheeks stuffed with the meringue before him.

Which reminds me, I still have yet to eat that caramel tart. I made a mental note of that and went back to the boiling conversation. Ilyanna was throwing rubbish at Malakai, who laughed loudly whilst Jorge and Beni dipped their heads in conversation. Anokan caught my eyes and shrugged helplessly.

I chuckled.

"Has anyone seen her yet?" Malakai stopped fending off Ilyanna's attacks for a moment, his head swivelling round. I raised a brow as Ilyanna scoffed again. "I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Yodekha was in the back giving Matt a bl-" she was cut off by Anokan, who's large hand clapped over her mouth.

"Now now, little sister. What would mother dearest think if she knew of your potty mouth?" Her eyes narrowed at him, she slapped his arm from her face.

"Right now I don't care." She dropped her head to her hands "I'm sick of having the same conversation with you guys about this girl." Jorge and Beni finished their murmured conversation, Jorge smiled at Ilyanna, his dark eyes warm.

"Let the little ones be ruled by their hormones, Yanna, they're not old enough to know better." A laugh slipped out of my mouth, a giggle escaping Ilyanna's pursed lips. Anokan and Malakai turned simultaneously and shot him identical glares. "She's got a great personality." Malakai defended, though his face said he knew what Yanna said was true, which had me even more curious about this Yodekha person.

Ilyanna rolled her eyes "If by 'great personality' you mean trashy then yes, I agree." She shot him an overly sweet smile and sipped on her iced tea. Malakai stuck his tongue out.

"So, uh, what else is there to do here?" I asked, albeit tentatively, garnering the immediate gushed replies of them all besides Jorge, who stared at the large cup of tea before him, then turned to gaze out the window at the few dwindling figures outside.

"Beth is definitely coming sledging with us when we go, guys." Ilyanna sang, gripping my forearm excitedly "She's already said she wanted to do it." I nodded, taking a sip of my tea as Malakai's face split into a slight grin, elbowing Beni beside him.

"Look who finally arrived." He said lowly. Ilyanna scoffed softly, scowling at her cup as sh raised it to her lips. I raised a brow slightly, did she hate the girl that much?

I turned my head discreetly too look in the direction of most of the boys' gazes. A tall, dark woman who looked to be in her mid twenties wearing the restaurants uniform, though slightly...customised and a sly glint in her dark eyes, eyes that slid to the booth we were sat at, pinning me momentarily with an intense stare before she focused on the others, a beautiful wide smile on her face as she sauntered over; snatching her notepad from the main desk as she went.

She stood by our booth only moments after Malakai's statement, the heavy scent of perfume clogging my nostrils as I frowned slightly, picking up my sandwich and eating as she chattered to the guys, ignoring Ilyana's dark look completely.

"You guys going to the bonfire tonight?" I heard her ask, her voice lower than I thought it would be, paired with her extremely feminine appearance; outrageous curves and long flowing hair and all. Malakai nodded as Anokan asked her if she would be going also.
