Chapter 6

"I don't like this." I found myself saying about two or three or four hours later. It was about four/five o'clock and already the sky had become a near pitch black.

We had eaten the lunch Ilyanna's mum, well she's told me to call her Tahja, had made. After that we had split off, me and Ilyanna staying in the living room with Amber and watching TV and chatting; mainly about my life in England, whilst the guys went up to Anokan's room.

At first I had been a little hesitant to indulge so much of myself to Tahja but I was comforted by the kindness I saw in her eyes. "What made you come here?" She had asked, I felt my heart skip a beat.

"I just needed to get away from that place for a while." I had said. She laughed. "So you chose Alaska?"

I had laughed with her. About an hour or two later me and Ilyana had gone upstairs to her room. The walls on either side of the stairs were plastered with photos of the family, I caught a glimpse of the Ilyanna and Anokan I hadn't met.

I could see that they had been loud, cheerful children, so different from the quiet wallflower I had been.

Ilyanna's room was a lively green, with rich oak drawers and a tall wardrobe on one side and her queen sized bed on the other, a stark shade of white.

"Make yourself at home." She had said as she hopped over to one of the shelves other wall, where hundreds of DVDs and videos were stacked. I bee lined toward the bed and flopped onto it, smiling at the cold sheets as they pressed into my face.

"What sorta stuff do you like to watch?"

"Anything that's not a chick flick or rom-com is good with me." I cringed, the awkward-meant-to-be-funny and cliché romantic moments had me squirming and scowling.

Ilyana smirked at me "Good, 'cause I don't have any." I laughed, rolling over o to my front so that I could see her clearly. She popped one into the DVD player and slid onto the bed next to me, the faint scent of citrus wafting over me when she did so.

"Your hair smells really nice." I said, picking up a strand and sniffing it faintly. Ilyana glanced at me, a small smile on her face "That was kinda creepy," she paused, "but thank you." I laughed and nodded as the trailers began to play.

Halfway through the film Ilyanna had gasped loudly and practically thrown herself over the side of the bed, just as her mum opened the door. She eyed her child weirdly before smiling at me.

"Ilyanna you better be in your garbs."

I heard Ilyana groan slightly and I smothered a laugh. Garbs? What on earth?

"I was getting to it." She said, Amber shook her head and shut the door with a parting "Hop to it girl, I have to go threaten your brother."

I laughed again, turning to Ilyanna, who still hasn't moved from her sprawled position on the floor. Her dark eyes looked up at me and her mouth was pulled into a frown. She blew out a large breath before sitting up abruptly.

I raised a brow at her.

Her mouth slowly pulled into a devilish smile and I felt my own face pull into a frown. That look would make Satan feel paranoid.
