Rain.

Pwedeng ulan. Pwedeng tao.

Parehong malamig, parehong nakakainis.

***

June.

May mga taong nag-eexpect ng ulan after summer, and June is actually supposed to be a rainy month. Ganun yun dati. But because of global warming, things have changed. Minsan, the rainy season starts at the end of June and it continues until the second week of July. And it is usually accompanied by a heavy down pour, minsan nga bagyo pa. A storm that could destroy hundreds of houses and can kill thousands of people in just a matter of minutes.

Students always loved rain. Bakit? Kasi tamad sila. They always pray for the rain to pour harder para magka-suspension of classes. Not thinking about the postponement of lessons, reschedule of exams, and the safety of people living in an unstable area. Students are sometimes selfish. Pero hindi naman nila sila masisisi.

School isn't fun. Especially when you're in college. Besides the fact na kailangan may liparin munang bubong bago masuspend ang klase, puro nalang stress ang naibibigay ng college. Deadline here, there and everywhere! Quizzes, reports, research, paper works and shit. So sinong may ayaw ng malakas na ulan for the sake of suspension?

I like rain, no, I love rain. Besides the fact na hindi ako nalalagkitan, parang napaka-soothing lang pakinggan ng ulan. Relaxing yet destructive.

But not this time.

This unexpected heavy down pour is driving me crazy. Why?

First. Wala akong payong.

Second. Wala akong hoodie.

Third. Hindi ako masusundo ng service ko, which means I have to walk to the waiting shed and wait for a cab or a jeepney.

Fourth. Basa na ang medyas ko. Nakakadiri.

And last but not the least. Nakakasuka ang couples na nagpi-PDA sa school.
