Chapter 25: why would he do this?

Bethany's POV:

I lay there on my bed, constantly thinking about what just happened.

Me and Ross NEVER fight. Something's definitely wrong...

But I'm also confused. How did he found out about my date with Brad if only Rydel knew?

I should call Rydel and ask her how he knows.

"Hello?" Rydel said.

"Hey, it's Beth. Can I, um, ask you something?"

"Oh hi! And yeah sure, what's up?"

"Um... How does, uh, Ross know about my date with Brad?" I said, nervously.

"Oh, umm... I-"

"Don't worry, you can tell me. I'm not mad." I lied.

"Well... He kinda overheard us talking on the phone today..." Rydel replied.

"Oh... So, you didn't tell him?"

"I didn't tell him. Although, I did talk to him about it after..."

There was a moment of silence.

"Oh, okay. Thanks. Anyways, I better get going-"

"Wait! Why do you wanna know?" Rydel asked, cutting me off.

I hesitate. I don't know if I wanna tell Rydel about me and Ross' fight earlier...

"Um... Ross called me, asking about my date with Brad and we, uhh, got into a huge fight..." I replied, trying not to cry.

"Oh my god, seriously?" Rydel answered, sounding sorry.

"Yeah..."

"That's horrible. Doesn't that mean this is, like, your first fight ever?"

"Um, yeah, pretty much..." I told her.

I'm gonna cry. No. I CANNOT cry right now.

"Is he mad at you? Or are you...?" She asked.

"We are kinda mad at each other..."

DO. NOT. CRY. BETHANY.

"Are you... okay?" Rydel said, concerned.

"I- I really... No, I'm not." I said back.

"Ross seemed fine today, he didn't look mad..." She told me.

And that's it. I'm crying.

"Beth, oh my gosh! Are you okay?" Rydel asked, sounding super worried.

"No- I don't know- I'm just s-so confused..." I said, crying.

"Do you want me to talk to Ross?"

"Um, yes, please."

"Okay, I will. Everything will be fine, Bethany. Bye." She said, then hung up.

I sat there, not really sure of what just happened.

I'm crying. I rarely cry. This is worst then I thought. Rydel NEEDS to talk to Ross, like, right now.

Rydel's POV:

I get up and go to find Ross. Once I find him, I ask if we can talk.

"Hey, what's up?" Ross said, kinda sounding confused.

"What happened between you and Bethany?" I said, pretty straight forward.

"What do you mean, 'what happened'? Nothing hap-"

"Ross, Beth told me everything."

"Oh..." He answered.

"Why are you guys fighting?" I asked.
