Percy's POV
"Hey Mom," I hesitantly say, then I think, Oh what the heck, and I blurt out, "Can Annabeth stay here?"
My mom looked started. Then she asked the million dollar question, "Why?"
"Because she needs a place to stay." I vaguely answer, not really wanting to give away Annabeth's secret.
"I'll need more of an answer then that, honey" She tells me.
I sigh, "Fine," I give in, "Annabeth lives with the world's biggest jerk who doesn't care that she was beat up because he does the same thing when she's home." My mom looked was at loss for words.
It's been 4 days since Annabeth ended up in the hospital, and she was to be released tomorrow, and she's scared to go home with her jerk of a foster father. I offered to let her stay here at my house, but she said she would only say yes if Paul and my mom agreed to it, which is what I'm trying to convince them of now, well, at least my mom. Paul is at some meeting, so there was only a half-a-day of school. Speaking of which, I haven't been doing any homework since Monday, which could be a major part in the yes-or-no equation. But, honestly, you guys don't care about my grades, you probably want to know what her injuries were (Annabeth, if that wasn't clear). Anyway, she had some majorly bruised ribs (which the doctor said she was lucky they didn't break), an extremely bad concussion, and something to do with her tongue because she had bit her tongue pretty darn hard, but I don't know the medical term for it. Annabeth is healing well, thank the Gods, but she's also terrified of Rob, I actually learned his name, and what he's gonna do to her when she gets discharged from the hospital.
"Umm..." Mom says while thinking, "Okay"
"YE--" I start to say but my mom cuts me off by saying, "Just make sure you two aren't in the same room together"
"MOM!" I shout in embarrassment.
She laughs, "I just don't want to be a grandma this soon"
"I'm going to see Annabeth and tell her the new" I suddenly announce just to get out of this awkward conversation. I grab Mom's car keys from the little dish on the table and I head to the door.
"Be safe!" Mom calls after me while I shake my head.

Annabeth's POV
I hate hospitals. I absolutely hate them. This is where I had to go when my parents died, and every other time I ended up here because of Rob. I can't wait until I'm out of that house. But I know that I shouldn't hope to much or it won't happen, that's just the way of my luck. I can't believe Percy suggested I live with him. Here I thought I'd regret my decision to tell him what goes on inside my 'perfect' life. I just can't get my hopes up about my crush on him, or he might take back his offer on letting me stay with him, which I cannot let happen, even if it means not being able to be with him any other way besides as a friend.
"She said yes!" A voice exclaims from the door, I recognized the voice as Percy's. Immediately, my spirits lifted.
"Really?" I ask in disbelief, making sure this wasn't a joke.
"Yep," He said triumphantly, "And I have further good news for you"
"What is it?" I ask curiously. What more could he do for me.
"You can come home as soon as you get dressed and collect all of your stuff you need from here. You need an adult to check you out so Paul, or Mr. Blofis if you will, will pick us up and check you out of here, not in that order though." I couldn't keep the grin from forming on my face. Even though it's the best thing that's ever happened to me since I was twelve, I couldn't believe it, that I was getting out of here earlier then expected and Rob doesn't know where I'm going, nor should he care. Maybe, just maybe, I'm finally free of the horrible life I have with him.
