Help From A Golden Boy (Percy Jackson Fanfiction)

Ch. 14

*I just wanted to give a sorta shoutout to @Author_Of_My_Fantasy because she was the only one who guessed at why Piper, Hazel, and Annabeth are no longer friends. You can go back and look at the comments if you want to know what she guessed. She wasn't very off on her guessing.*

Annabeth's POV

All I could do was stare at the girl in front of me. She hasn't changed much since I last saw her, which was second grade, aside from the fact that she's older and obviously has grown.

Piper Mclean still has eyes that change color, which I now know are called kaleidoscope eyes. Her hair is still choppy and brown, but now it has a feather in it.

I haven't seen Piper since we were, I think, eight years old. Her and Hazel were there for me when my parents died, and when I was put in that crappy orphanage. At the end of second grade, Piper's dad was finally discovered and he got a job as the lead in some action film. Naturally, Mr. Mclean had to move to LA to be closer to the studios, and of course he had to take Piper with him, considering her mom passed away when she was giving birth to Piper. So Piper never knew her.

We kept in touch for the most part. But, when I moved in with Rob he made me cut all ties from my life before I lived with him. I couldn't talk to Piper or Hazel (Hazel moved away a year later and wasn't allowed to talk to me anyway, but that's a story for another day).

"How has California been?" I ask awkwardly.

"It was alright. I didn't make many friends out there though, I mostly kept to myself," She tells me with a slight blush, but I'm not sure why she was blusing. Maybe she was embarrassed by the fact that she didn't have many friends?

"That's kinda hard to believe," I say with a chuckle, "You were always a little out there when we were younger, always trying to make friends."

Piper laughs a bit at that before we fall back into another awkward silence.

"How did you and Jason meet?" I ask just to get rid of the silence.

She blushes before answering, "When I was 15 I had gone to this beach party that wasn't to far away from where I lived. I'm not much of a partier but I was bored and had nothing better to do. I honesty don't remember much from that night (I don't think Jason does either), but I do remember this really hot guy with blonde hair and stunning blue eyes approach me and ask me to dance. A couple drinks and drunken kisses he's asking me to be his girlfriend. I had said yes, and when I woke up the next morning I could barely remember what happened the night before (Jason couldn't remember much either), but we managed to piece it together and figure out what happened. Now it has been almost three years and we're happily in love." Piper gushes all this to me in one big breath.

"That is so sweet!" I cooed.

"How about you and Percy?" She asks me, "Because I knew you two were soul-mates when he stood up for you in kindergarten."

"Nothing...much has happened." I say hesitantly.

"OMG YOU HAVE TO TELL ME EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED BETWEEN YOU TWO!!" Piper squeals. Very loudly, I might add.

So I tell her about our almost kisses like we were best friends again and I swear she acted like we were celebrities and she was a huge fan.

When I was done talking, Piper squealed again, "YOU GUYS ARE NOW MY OTP!!"

"OTP?" I ask confused.

"OTP = One True Pairing." She tells me in a 'duh' tone.

"Okayy..." I say slowly, still not understanding her new language.

"Ugh," She groans before explaining in slowly, like she was talking to a two-year old, "It basically means I ship you guys so hard that your pain becomes my pain. And OTP's usually cause their fans a bunch of pain."

I gave her a weird look before shaking my head. "I don't think I want to know." I tell her.

She laughs. "So, wanna tell me what has been happened to you in the last few years?"

I shrug and say "Sure," before diving into the basics of the story once again.

I'm glad Piper is here. I think I would go crazy if I didn't have another teenage girl to talk to eventually. I hope my life is finally looking up compared the terrible years I've had since my parents passed away.

Early update in honor of my four day weekend. YAY!!

Who else thinks Piper and Annabeth are really good together as besties? Was anyone surprised by Piper's inner fangirl? What did you guys think about the reason Piper had to move away? Why do you think she came back to NY?
