Percy's POVI still couldn't wrap my head around everything with Paul. I don't even want to understand it. If I understand what's happening, it just makes everything more real. But, no matter how confused I'm feeling, I've got to be there for Annabeth. Today is the day where we see if anyone will be punished for hurting Annabeth. I swear to the Gods above if they get away for what they did, I will find a way to end them myself.
Right now, it's still pretty early in the morning. According to the clock I have hanging on my wall, it's only 6:02 am, and the trial is at 8:30. So, I guess, it's not that early, considering there's only two hours until it's time.
In my arms, I feel Annabeth start to stir. I look down at her just as she starts to open her eyes.
"Mornin' beautiful," I whisper to her. Annabeth's eyes widen a fraction before she closes her eyes and pushes her head into my chest, but not before I see her blush.
We laid like that for awhile before Annabeth whispered, "I'm scared."
I didn't have to ask what she was afraid of; it's pretty obvious, considering what day it was.
"Everything will turn out fine, just wait," Is what I told her.
"How do you know?" Annabeth's voice sounded so small and scared. Like a small child in a new situation with people she doesn't even know.
"Because everything is always fine in the end. Whether everything is fine at the end of today or in a year, it will be completely fine." My tone leaving no room for any arguments.
"Gods, I hope you're right," She sighed into my chest.
Before I got respond, my mom knocked on the door and said "Come on you sleepy heads. The first trial is at 8:30 and it's already 7."
Seven? It's been that long since we started talking? That doesn't make much sense.
"So," Mom continued. "If you two want some breakfast, I suggest you come eat now. We've got to show up early."
"We'll be right down, Mom!" I called to her.
When we heard my mom's footsteps fade completely away, Annabeth and I got up and got dressed within a few minutes.
Breakfast went by fast and then Annabeth and I were both ready to leave; all we were doing now was waiting for my mom and Paul to be ready. As we were waiting, I looked over at Annabeth and couldn't help but notice how enchanting she looked all dressed up in formal wear. She was wearing a cute, black/grayish dress that had a belt with a little bow and a white and black checkered collar.
"Hey Percy?" Annabeth sounded unsure.
"Yeah?"
"What do you think will happen during the trial?" I hated hearing her sound so scared.
