Annabeth's POV

We ended up on a bridge in Central Park. It was so pretty. It was white with some flowers on the ends of it. I'm pretty sure the flowers were fake, though, because I don't think they would change the flowers very often. And real flowers wouldn't last very long in New York in the middle of the winter unless someone froze them.

It took us an hour to get to that bridge. We spent a lot of time just walking down the street, enjoying each other's company. We didn't talk. We just walked, holding hands. As cheesy as it may sound, I love holding Percy's hand. It makes my stomach do backflips, and it makes me feel loved for the first time in a long time.

"What are you thinking about?" Percy broke the silence for the first time since we left the apartment.

"How happy I feel being with you," I answered honestly before laughing. "Gods, that sounded so cheesy."

Percy grinned at me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him, resting his forehead against mine before saying, "Annabeth Chase, my girlfriend, I'm in love with you."

I don't think I heard him right. Did he, Percy Jackson, just tell me that was in love  with me?

"Wha-what?" I asked in shock.

"Yes, Annabeth Chase," He said. "I am completely and utterly in love with you."

I don't think I was breathing. What was breathing again? Because I sure wasn't doing it.

"You have to breathe, Annabeth," Percy informed me with a chuckle.

"I-I just don't get it," I admit.

"Get what?" Percy asked, confused by my words.

"How you can love me," I ask quietly.

"How could I not  love you?" He asked me with a frown.

"What do you mean?"

"Annabeth," He starts with a sigh. "You are completely amazing. Anyone would have to be blind to not see it."

"Then everyone must be pretty blind, because no one seems to care about me." I mentally curse when I feel the back of my eyes burning.

"You are so beautiful that it couldn't possibly be funny," Percy continued. "Any other girl would use it to their advantage. If you really wanted to, you could wrap any guy you wanted around your finger and make him your slave. And don't even get me started on those eyes of yours. It's like, every time you look at someone, you're analyzing them and it looks like you're reading their mind."

I am now back to being speechless. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't keep those stupid tears from escaping my eyes. Percy looked a bit alarmed when he noticed I had started to cry.

He wrapped me in a huge hug, and I ended up sobbing into his shoulder... Again. Except I was actually happy this time.

When I was done with my sob-attack, I pulled back and looked Percy in the eye.

"I don't deserve you," I tell him sadly.

"No you don't," He agrees with me. "You deserve more than me."

Instead of answering him, I grabbed the collar of his black jacket he was wearing and kissed him full on the lips.

When I ran out of breath (stupid lungs and their need for oxygen) and pulled back, I looked up at Percy and said "Percy Jackson, I am completely and irrevocably in love with you too."

Percy tightened his grip around my waist and spun me around. When he set me down on the ground, Percy kissed me so hard that my head felt fuzzy.

"Say it again," I demanded of Percy.
