Birthdays

Kathy was very angry at Elliot for fathering a child while they were separated. He actually thought it was more the fact that Eli was only a few months older than Rebecca. She wanted him to be way older, separated and grow up in the spotlight. 

After Elliot had heard that Kathy told the brass that he was the father of Easton, he lost it. He went to his lawyers and demanded that he get full custody and Kathy pay child support to him. While it was a tough fight, after several months, it was awarded. What helped was Kathy going on and on about Elliot's 'bastard' Rebecca. Even her lawyer was tired of it. 

She hated Elliot since then, meaning they lost their babysitter, but they'd be able to afford a sitter now that he was getting a fairly decent chunk of change from Kathy, who had to go back to nursing. Richard and Kathleen said they would help on certain days too. Kathleen was more excited since she was going into child development and knew this was a great opportunity for her to learn from experience. 

With Eli's birthday fast approaching, Elliot didn't know what he should do. Should he invite Kathy who had been stripped of visitation rights after nearly charging at Elliot and Liv at the squad house? It was her last first birthday. He probably would feel guilty if she wasn't there, but Eli wouldn't even notice. Liv had been taking over mom for him and was loving her. 

One night, while Elliot was deep in thought about the birthday, Liv came in and stood there, confused. Elliot snapped out of his own thoughts and raised an eyebrow. "What's up?"

Liv looked back into the hallway, pointing causally. "All three babies are asleep," she said, looking at him. 

Elliot raised both eyebrows. "How did you manage that?"

She shrugged as she went over to  him, crawling onto the bed until she was straddling him. He smiled a little at her idea. They haven't done anything in a hot minute, so he was very much going to enjoy this. He went to run his hand down her arm, but she swatted it away. 

So it was going to be like that? He chuckled and kept his hands to himself as she slowly trailed her fingernail down his bare chest. When it reached the band of his underwear, she halted and sat back on her haunches. Giving him a smile, she took off her shirt, bra had been discarded when they got home. 

Her breast popped out perfectly. Even with Easton chewing on her nipples, they were perfect. Slightly more rounded and full than before, but that was because of the milk production for their son. He took the chance to cup her face and bring her closer to him. Their lips crashed like thunder. 

He grabbed a hold of her hip with one hand and turned them over to where he was on top, lips still locked with each other. Her legs automatically wrapped around his waist as his lips trailed down her jaw to her neck. Traveling further still, they went to her breasts. He's never tried breast milk before, but he heard an old buddy say it was great, especially during sex. 

Fastening his lips onto the nipple, and started suckling like a newborn. The sweet liquid flowed into his mouth and he drank almost greedily. Her moans of pleasure only adding fuel to the fire in his groin. However, he needed to stop. Their son needed it more. Releasing her nipple with a pop, he briefly licked her other one so not to favor one over the other. 

Her hands ran down his arms to his underwear. He felt her start to tug when their baby monitor started going off. They froze. Rebecca was crying very loudly. Groaning, Elliot got out of bed and put shorts on before going to see what was going on. Typical of children. Honestly he was shocked he and Kathy were able to get to five kids with how many times they got interrupted. 

When Rebecca had finally fallen back asleep, Liv was already asleep herself. Elliot sighed heavily and kissed her shoulder before falling asleep with her. Sometimes being a parent sucked. 

That weekend was Eli's birthday. Elliot had decided to invite Kathy, on the condition that she would behave. Regretfully, she agreed, not wanting to miss her child's birthday. She stayed mostly to herself, even with the other kids trying to get her involved in the games that they were playing with the young ones. 

Liv tried to make friends with Kathy again, but it seemed that Kathy was simply mad at the world. In the end, Kathy left early to prevent Eli from having a good birthday party. She saw Elliot holding Rebecca and as she said the next day, 'nearly lost it'. 

"Well, thanks for thinking of Eli," Elliot had said after a supervised visit at her house. Nodding, Kathy walked him to the door. 

"I don't know why it bugs me, Elliot, but it does. I'll try to keep working on it so I can stay in Eli's life," she confessed. 

Elliot transferred Eli from one arm to the other and looked at her. "That's all I ask," he said, barely more than a whisper.

She smiled at him and kissed his cheek in a surprise motion before shoving him out the door and closing it. Elliot stood on the steps with his mouth agape in shock. What just happened?
