Just a Kiss

So I think this story is reaching the end.

Elliot went home with Eli in tote, mind reeling of what just happened. Kathy just kissed him. Granted it was just the cheek, but she hasn't done that in years. Since the twins were in like middle school.

Richard was watching Easton and Rebecca when he got in. Liv had a long day at the office doing paperwork. Upon seeing his father's face confused and contorted, he asked, "What's eating you?"

He debated on whether to tell his son or not. He had proven that he's become a better man than he has in the past, which was a relief. "Your mother kissed my cheek," he said softly as if Liv was here. He knew she wasn't.

Looking both shocked and confused as well, he leaned back on the couch. "She kissed your cheek?" He asked, confirming.

Elliot nodded, putting Eli down to play with the toys with Rebecca and Easton. Richard leaned on his knees all of a sudden, antsy. "Okay, there's an explanation for that," he said in an obvious voice.

Scoffing as he sat in his chair, watching the movie. An old classic about a dinosaur, Richard loved it. "What is it?"

"I don't know," Richard confessed, collapsing back against the couch back again.

Elliot scoffed again. He knew that Richard didn't have an answer. "Maybe it was just that, a kiss on the cheek, no meaning behind it." Elliot shrugged. The problem was, did he keep it from Liv or not. That was something he wasn't going to ask his son. It was none of his business if he did or not.

However, he knew that if he didn't say something, Richard would ask in a few days what Liv thought about the meaning of it. Then there'd be a fight and he just was too old for childish jealousy fights.

The movie had just finished when Liv opened the door. Eli waddled over with a toothy grin, arms open wide. She smiled at him and picked him up, kissing all over him as he giggled. Rebecca held her arms up too and Liv scooped up her daughter too to equally kiss both. While she wasn't the biological mother of either of them, they were starting to love her just like it, and he knew that she loved them like her own.

He had decided that night before bed to tell her that Kathy kissed him. His cheek. He had to make sure to specify that body part. Richard had already guessed that his father was going to tell Liv before bed, so he offered to put Eli and Rebecca to sleep. It was fairly easy since they were over halfway knocked out anyway.

Easton still slept in Liv and Elliot's room in the crib. Liv bounced him as she hummed, trying to get him to settle to sleep. He was fighting sleep a little. "Liv, I've gotta tell you something," Elliot said after another twenty minutes. Easton finally went to sleep and Liv had gave a large sigh of relief.

She turned to him, curiosity plastered to her face. "What's up?"

Elliot was nervous. What if she left him because of it? "Today, I went over to have a supervised visit with Eli. Kathy apologized for the way she acted. Which was amazing. However, before she closed the door, she kissed my cheek."

Liv suddenly got mad and paced the room. "So you cheated on me?" Her face was red as it was when talking to a rapist. Stuttering, Elliot wasn't sure what to say. He didn't want to start an argument, but he was about to say something when Liv suddenly burst out laughing. "El, I'm sorry, your face looked so panicked. Kathy texted me today saying that she kissed your cheek. It's fine. She also said she knew you'd overthink it. It was just a simple thank you kiss. She's seeing someone else, too."

Liv continued to laugh while Elliot came to terms with what just happened within a few seconds of each other. She walked over to him and gently gave him a kiss on the lips. "Now, that was a kiss worth telling about," she said with a sensual smile.

Elliot ran his hand up her waist before pulling her to him. "I'll get you back," he warned as he locked lips with her. She was straddling him, in her older underwear and throw up stained black bra, but he still thought she was beautiful. She was starting to get a couple of wrinkles from frowning at rapists and her children so much, worry lines from all the constant worrying she does for victims, but he still thought she was the most beautiful woman on the planet.
