Chapter One - Her Life

She walked through the noisy hallway of her school. It was a good thing that no one bullies anyone, no one disrespects the teachers. Students in Sky High were taught how to be friendly to everybody. They were taught not to bully others and were taught on how to respect teachers. But the most disciplined one is,

"Haneul!" Somebody called making her turn her back around.

Haneul smiled and said, "Hey. I thought you were going to skip school again."

"Psh," her friend said. "By the way, I saw your name on the bulletin board. You're on the top again!"

"Really? I didn't go check it earlier because I thought you weren't going to come." She sighed. "Anyway Min, I have to go to my first class now! Goodbye! See you later!"

Haneul walked into the classroom only to find her classmates sleeping. Well, it happens almost everyday. If not sleeping, they'll be talking endlessly to each other until the teacher comes. Teachers in Sky High are always busy due to loads and loads of orders from the owner.

"Students of Sky High." A voice echoed through the campus. "Classes are suspended only for today for teachers are going to have a meeting for the whole day. Thank you."

Students cheered but Haneul only gave a smile. But on the inside she was happier than every people in class. "Haneul!!" Min said on the door panting.

She knew what Min wanted to say so she grabbed all her things. "Let's go."

"That's a good thing."

The two girls were at Happy Cafe and they asked the manager if they could work and it would count as over time. Fortunately, the manager agreed. "Wear your uniforms now."

"Yes manager!"

Haneul decided to take orders while Min was at the counter. "May I take your order ma'am?"

"Can I have some cappuccino and blueberry cheesecake?"

"Okay ma'am just wait for your order." Haneul smiled. She was about to tell Min her order but the customer suddenly spoke.

"Are you Lee Haneul? From Sky High?"

"Ah yes ma'am." Haneul replied, a bit happy that someone recognized her but a bit nervous too.

"I am Lee Jaekyung from Star Entertainment and I heard you're a smart and talented girl. You also got the looks." Jaekyung grinned. "Here, this is my calling card. Just call me if you're interested in auditioning in our company."

"Ah, thank you Miss Jaekyung. I will, I will." Haneul smiled then said goodbye to Jaekyung.

Arriving in the kitchen, she was met by a long-haired guy. "You know you shouldn't talk to strangers." He said.

"Oh please, Jeonghan. You also do that." Haneul said and they both laugh.

Jeonghan has been Haneul's good friends for years. He never left her when she's having a hard time especially when she's experiencing some problems. Haneul lived alone. She lives in a very small room not so far from school and the cafe. Her parents died when she was 2 years old according to her parents' friends and she has an older brother but he's nowhere to be found.

"And I'm 16 not 6 to not talk to strangers. Besides, she's a customer!"

"Okay okay, you win Ms. Smarty Pants." Jeonghan teased. "It's weekend tomorrow. Do you want to come with me to the hospital tomorrow?"

Haneul smiled. "Yes, yes. So I could visit Mrs. Park."

Jeonghan sighed. "I don't get it why you are so kind and patient to her. She's like a grandma who's always on her period except that she's actually 35 years old."

Haneul lightly elbowed her friend. "Don't be like that! She's actually kind. Maybe she's had enough of the world being a pain in the butt? And she's ill."

"You have bigger problem, Haneul." Jeonghan answered immediately.

"But she's a lot older than me."

"And she's rich. She can buy anything she wants. She can pay the doctors so they could heal her. And you," Jeonghan noticed Haneul stopped what she was doing and was just staring at the thing she's holding. "I'm sorry."

She didn't speak. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"Look it's okay." She smiled. "So, tomorrow? At the hospital? Okay?"

Then she left leaving Jeonghan feeling sorry for the girl. He sighed and just continued what he was doing. "I didn't mean to say that though."
