So I wrote the WHOLE chapter and my brother 'accidentally' deleted my writing folder so I lost everything and ugh kill me.

"How was it?"
"It was amazing."
"Listen to yourself Melly, you're in love alright?"
"Can you shut up? I don't even know anything about him!"
I heard Sel groan loudly, "You sound like an idiot. This is Jake we're talking about. You know, Jacob Miller? Ring a bell?"
"Shutup." I mumbled, feeling a small blush creep into my cheeks.
It was Thurday afternoon, the day after me and Jake's 'date'. I couldn't grab a hold on Sel since she was in class. So I spent the morning listening to crappy pop songs and smiling like an idiot.
"I don't get it. I really don't."
"Don't get what?"
"When two people like eachother, they open up. They try to get closer. They start dating."
"It's not that easy Selly..."
"Me and Lance are making it work. And this time, I honestly had no idea who he was before he asked me out. You and Jake have known eachother for years."
"You know it's complicated! You out of everyone!"
"What are you on about?!"
"Sel! That day in the zoo. Those gang members. I was actually considering getting more close to Jake but I just saw Bill yesterday, for God's sake!"
"I'm sorry," she whispered, "I didn't think of that."
I sighed loudly, "I really like him. And maybe, just maybe, I won't mind actually dating him. But I can't pull him in this. It's worse enough to have you, Max, my dad, and my brothers in it. I can't put another life in danger."
"You haven't put anyone in danger. God knows what those guys could've done if we hadn't reported them to the station."
"I know, I know. It's just..."
"No, it's alright. I understand. I do. I just want you to be happy babe. I don't want you worrying about this."
"I don't want to worry about it. But I just really don't want to put Jake in this position."
"Yeah, I get it. But.. Ugh Melly. This is complicated."
I laughed, "Told you so."

Monday came sooner than I thought, and I was more than excited to finally leave my house.
"Are we going in your car?" Jer asked, taking a bite out of my waffle.
"Doesn't matter really, we're coming home anyways." I grumbled back.
"Awh Melly, you know Dad only wants us to be safe."
"I've spent five days in this house. I'm DYING to get out."
He laughed and carried on with getting his shoes on. In the meanwhile, I got my keys and stuffed three Oreo packets in my bag.
"Let's go?"
I nodded in response and followed my twin outside. Just as the sunshine hit my skin and the wind blew through my hair, I grinned widely. Finally being outside made me extremely energetic, and so I plopped down on the ground and scrunched my body together, pretending to kiss the floor.
"Melly? What the fuck?"
"Do you know how heavenly this is to me?! Do you?!" I shouted at Jer and went back to my position.
