"Now class, I don't think there's anything left to say. Pick up your brushes, and start." Our teacher said, finally ending his little talk.

I sighed and stared at my blank canvas. Usually in Painting, I'd be filled with ideas to make a beautiful picture, but not this time. My mind was as blank as the big board in front of me.

The whole day, the boys tried talking to me but I'd never really reply whole heartedly. I was still angry at them. I knew I'd soften up really soon but until then, I wanted to stay strong.

"Mel?" I heard Jake whisper from beside me which made me let out an inaudible groan. Out of everyone, he was the most hardest to ignore. I don't know what it was, but I just couldn't bring myself to not respond. Probably cuz of my little crush.

Yes, I'd admitted to myself that I had a crush on Jake. Not a full on, stalker mode crush, just a small liking. And hopefully it'll stay like that. I didn't want things to go too far while he has no idea what I'm doing.

"Yeah?"

"What's wrong? You're not making anything."

"I'm not inspired to do anything. I just.. I don't know what to do."

He gave me a small smile, his expression feigning guilt.

Yeah, feel guilty for making me like you and messing with my feelings!

"Put your headphones in."

I snapped out of my thoughts and gave him a confused look.

"What?"

"Put your headphones in," He repeated, "And blast your music to the loudest. You'll get inspired."

I thought about it for a second before shrugging, I got nothing to lose.

Plugging the two ear buds in my ears, I turned on my phone and started the music player. After a few songs, I smiled at a few pictures filling my mind. Quickly, before losing them, I picked up a brush and started to paint.

Before I touched the canvas, I turned to Jake to see him smiling at me, "Thanks."

He just winked as a response and turned around. Shaking my head, I continued with my new idea.

"So, since we haven't done this in a while, let's all go to the bakery today. We can leave right after school and finish our homework there." Cory suggested when we were at our lunch table.

I focused on my pizza, hoping no one brought me into this. I didn't want to go to the bakery. I mean, of course I did, but not when I was still angry at the boys!

"Mel? What'dya say?" Sean asked. Dammit!

"Uh- I'll pass. I don't mind doing my homework at home."

"Mel-" I heard Cam started before Max interrupted him with a look saying 'don't push it'. I mentally thanked him though I'm pretty sure he'd try to convince me sooner or later.

After what felt like days, the bell rang and I picked up my bag, dropped my tray in the trash, and walked away quickly.

"Mel, wait!" I sighed and turned around to see Jake catching up to me.

"Why aren't you coming?"

Instead of giving an instant reply, I grabbed his arm, ignoring the pathetic butterflies in my stomach, and pulled him to the corner of the hallway so we weren't in the middle of a rush.
