I stay home the next day, and so did most of the group. It was uneventful, but we honored Sophia's life. I've decided to talk at the funeral, and I need Kaylee to help me write my speech. My family has been easy on me since the incident. Usually I would be bored alone, but I'm not. I want to do something, but I'm okay lying in bed watching tv.
The rest of the day is a blur. After all my friends had gone back to school, I decide to the next day. It's 12:17 on thursday, which means its lunch hour and almost break. My teacher Mr. Jacobs sees me walking down the hallway towards the classroom.
"Savannah, I am so sorry about Sophia. Just know that you are surrounded by people that love you." He says patting me on the shoulder and leading me into the classroom. As soon as eyes are on me, I hear people calling my name. I'm embraced by Emily and next Amanda, Kaylee and James. It turned into a weird group hug with half my class in it. Some people were just joking and some were sincere. I didn't mind either way. I grabbed my homework afterwords and put it into my locker for later.
At break Sam and Emmette join us and greet me back to school. I know I say how annoying they all are, but I couldn't live with out my friends. As ironic as that is. Amanda, Jade, Kaylee, Sam, Emmette, James and I make plans for Saturday to hangout. Little did any of us know what lay ahead for us.
"Hey! You never told me on Monday when you got on the bus!" I poke Sam.
"Yes I did, the doors just closed. Maybe it's a sign I shouldn't tell you." He said poking me back.
"Woah guys, what's going on." Emmette said sexually. I sigh and roll my eyes.
"Sam you suck. Emmette, don't be like that." Right then, a thought occurred to me.
"Hey, where are the Trouble makers?" I curiously ask.
"Kendall and Erin? They have been at the police department for questioning all week." Amanda says almost like she's proud. I laugh to my self a bit.
"Do you know if they caught the guy?" I ask.
"No. Kendall and Erin won't talk. They just sit there nod, and cry." James says with a weird tone.
"Oh, well.... That's not good. How do you know?"I prod.
"Savannah, we were all questioned a billion times by the police yesterday and the day before. They think the guy is doing this- to you." Sam hesitates to finish.
'To me'
I give him a 'I'm so done' look and put my face in my hands. I feel a hand snake around my back and pull me close, but all I could see were my hands and my jeans. I've got a blue sweater on over a long sleeve white T-shirt with designs on the front and lace for the back. More dark jeans, and blue and pink converse. I come back to reality in time for the bell to our last classes goes. Ew, P.E.
I meet up with Emily in the hallway by our lockers to get my gymstrip.
"Partners?" She questions for badminton.
"No, I thought I'd be partners with Micheal." I say sarcastically nodding my head towards one of the 'popular guys.'
"Okay, partners it is." She laughs.
