I got home and put my bag in my room. "Time to get ready for work" I mumble to myself. After a quick shower and changing into my uniform I head to work at a hair salon. I clock in and sit behind my desk.
"hey Alex, how was school?"
"It was good Riss. First day. No homework. No stress" Riss is my boss. She is a golden retriever with white dove mixed in. She has white wings that make her look like an angel. Meanwhile I just look like a normal wolf.
"Hey. I thought I told you not to call me Riss. We are a family here. Call me mom. And did you see any cute boys?"
I turned bright red and looked at the computer trying not to make eye contact.
"Aww. Does Alex have a crush on one of the new students? What's his name? What's he like? When am I gonna get to meet him?"
"Look. He's cute that's about all. Besides, he seems super Christian. He quoted the bible in class. So I doubt that he would be interested in me. "
"Sure, and I'm a cat, just give it a shot hun. Maybe he likes you too. Did you ever think that maybe he just knows the bible? Plus if you go on a date I can promise you time off and a little bonus if you bring him by" she gave me a little wink.
"Only the first day and you are trying to set me up with someone. But I'll think about it ok?"
"Good. And don't forget, a scary movie works wonders for cuddling."
I shrugged and went to work setting and confirming appointments for the week and balancing the books.
