Jean and her group found themselves at the deathly mercy of the entity named by the Ruler of Death, the Gnosis Reaver, with a clear mission to hunt down Kunimitsu and his godly friends. As he lifted his blade to kill them all, a breath attack of anemo hits him as he looked up and saw Dvalin with Venti and everyone else on his back.
Paimon: "Jean! Everyone!"
Kunimitsu: "Get away from them!!"
Gnosis Reaver: "Vepar..."
Kunimitsu jumps off the dragon's back and summons his Mistsplitter. He charges at the Gnosis Reaver and locks blades with the entity.
Kunimitsu: "Who are you!"
Gnosis Reaver: "Hmph...you're just as bratty as you were back then...just like that foolish woman Beelzebul."
Hearing his mother's name, Kunimitsu's eyes widened, and he gritted his teeth. Kunimitsu swings his katana at the Gnosis Reaver, but he blocks his strikes with ease, and with one parry, the Gnosis Reaver shatters Kunimitsu's blade, shocking him.
Kunimitsu: "What..."
As he looked at his broken katana, the Gnosis Reaver grabbed him by the throat and stabbed him through the gut.

Ai: "KUNI!!!!!!"
Lumine/Paimon: "NOOO!!!!!!!"
Venti's eyes go big, seeing his best friend impaled through the stomach. Kunimitsu coughs up blood, but he grabs the Reaver's sword as he activates his Abyssal Archon form, surprising him.
Gnosis Reaver: "What?!"
Kunimitsu: "You hurt my friends! I won't let you get away with that."
Kunimitsu lets out a shout of power as he conjures the seven elements and unleashes a massive shockwave that blasts the Gnosis Reaver back. Kunimitsu holds his wound as the abyssal energy heals him. The Gnosis Reaver shrugs off the shockwave and regains his momentum.
Gnosis Reaver: "You have control of the abyss inside you...just as that retched woman predicted...but you are worthless to me...not an ideal soldier for the Heavenly Principles...not after taking HIS DUTY!"
The Gnosis Reaver charges at the group as they prepare to fight, but then his moon-blade shines and holds back his arm. He struggles to move his arm, and he feels the gaze of an ancient presence far away in Nod-Krai. The others watch with confusion as the Gnosis Reaver tries to move his arm, but it is frozen against his will.
