CHAPTER FIFTEEN: what if?

MALACHI MILLER STOOD BY JAX. He, Jax, Jason and Liana had been trying to reprogram the security that Jake had put up.
"It was nice of your father to install this anti-wizard alarm system. Kinda ironic we have to use it against him," Liana tells both Jax and Jason.
"Why do we even need the system if we have Emma's protective bubble?" Jax inquired of.
"Well, just to be extra safe. Your father could be pretty crafty."
Kai thought it was odd. That Jake Novoa put an anti-wizard (witch) system, when he was claiming that Liana wasn't to be trusted. Like, it was to prevent Liana from entering.
"Okay, like I said, this switch here arms and disarms the system." Jax flipped the switch.
Liana chuckled, leaning to kiss Jax on the cheek. Before kissing Jason on his cheek.
"Alright, I'm gonna go upstairs now and do homework," Jax says. "I'll turn it on then, before I go to bed."
Kai followed after Jax, wondering if he should ask Jax to go back to his house, to speak. When, Jax came to a sudden stop.
"Whoops," Liana chuckled, as she saw that Jax was caught in the trap. "Looks like up is on and down is off."
"Seems like it," Jax answered. "Mind getting me out of here?"
"Oh, right." She rushed over to disarm the system.
Kai took a hold of Jax's hand, and walked up the stairs. Jason followed after. . . . . . ╰──╮ ₛₘₒₖₑ & fᵢᵣₑ ╭──╯ . . . . .
"First Andi, then Maddie and her mom?" Emma stood up from the red seat. "Why is everyone against me?
"They-" Jason starts.
"And I can't believe Andi got to the Hex." She continues. "I knew I shouldn't have let them hang out so much. The Hex is my book! It's supposed to help me! And my magic has gotten super strong, but there's still a ton I don't know. I can't do this without Hex."
"Well, I didn't have any magic books here." Jason says. "I could go to my dad's office, but that's pretty risky right now."
"What exactly are you doing, that you need help with?" Kai asked Emma.
