CHAPTER NINETEEN: a girl's sacrifice

MALACHI MILLER WAS IN COMPLETE AND UTTER DISBELIEF ABOUT THE SITUATION AT HAND.  Apparently, he had been correct in not trusting Liana, but it didn't change that fact, that sh wished he wasn't.  Kai intended to take one of the cars off the property to get to Emma's house faster. But, as they had arrived at Emma's house, they crouched below the window that as in the kitchen, next to the door.

Liana was already there. So, Kai and Jessie dunked under the window, as to not be seen.

Why and how was she already up? Kai had knocked her with the heaviest book he could find, that had a hard cover. Granted, it has to be only eight pounds, but, still, eight pounds to the back of someone's head has to do some type of damage. She clearly wasn't knocked out long enough.

"It's a question of power, my dear," Liana tells Emma. "Once I've got the Orb's powers, I can transfer them to; Jessie, Jax and Jason."

"Jessie...Jax...and Jason?" Emma hesitated, disbelief.

"Of course. Someone will have to be Chosen One now that you're powerless. And once my children take power, I'll be able to take over the entire Realm."

"That's not how this works," Emma tells her. "You don't get to pick the Chosen One."

"Yeah, and not to be pickey," Andi speaks up. "but it's Chosen One, not Chosen Two."

Liana scoffed. "I'll be able to make whatever rules I please and no one will be able to stop me."

"There's just one small problem with your plan," Emma speaks. "Neither Jason nor Jax would ever go along with it."

Liana laughs. "You're so naive, Emma. Have you asked yourself why Jason isn't returning your calls? Or why, in this time of great danger, he's no where to be found?"

"Jason, Jax, come on, it's me," Jessie says.

"Lower your voice," Kai tells her.

"Go, Jessie," Jason replied.

"It's bad, Jason, real bad. Mom is sucking up light from a green ball and screaming at Emma and it's all 'creeptastic'." Jessie explained.

"Oh, no," Jax sighs. "It's too late! She already got the Orb."

"Jax. Jason, I'm going in." Jessie says.
