CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: stop Emma

»»𝓢𝓶𝓸𝓴𝓮 & 𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮►

JASON NOVOA BELIEVED HIS GIRLFRIEND TO BE THE SMARTEST PERSON HE KNEW. He thought that Emma was one of the most, beautiful, kind, smart people on earth. That being said, her sense of humor was...very limited. So, when she mentioned taking his father's powers, he believed it to be a sort of joke. A poorly timed one, for sure. But, a joke nonetheless.

Then he noticed the serious look on Emma's face, the way she wasn't laughing. "Wait, you're serious?"

"Very serious. And unlike Maddie, and the council, when I take his powers I'm keeping them."

"Em, he could crush us," Jason says.

"Not both of us. But, especially if we get Jax to help. He can't take on all three of us. If we use our magic at the same time, like at Maddie's, he wouldn't be able to fight us."

"I'm listening," Jason crossed his arms.

"I'll get the power I need for the Tambian Orb, and your dad will be powerless. Your family will be safe."

"It might stop all this craziness."

"Jason, I need you on board."

"Let's do it. Let's strip Jake Novoa of his powers...forever."

Jason and Emma sat in the Novoa living room, kneeling on the floor as the spell book was laid against the coffee table. Jax walked down the steps with Kai, as Jason had called him down, saying they needed his help with a spell. Apparently, they intended to take Jake's powers. Jason and Jax's father's powers.

"All right, so the first thing we need to do is lure him over here," Emma explained.

"Perfect," Jason speaks, sarcastically. "Just one problem, though. We have no idea where he is."

"He's probably in hiding somewhere, planning his next move. I mean, I could probably trick him into coming to see me, but, I mean-" Jax says.

Emma closed the book. "We don't have time for that. I need her Orb working as soon as possible! Plus, he's too smart for that. He'll get suspicious."

"There was nothing else in the book?" Jason questioned. "Did you even read the whole thing? I'm sure you missed something."

"Of course I read the whole thing." Emma says, cockily. But then Jason raised an eyebrow at her. "Sort of. But I guess it couldn't hurt to check again."
