* 2pm *
"Please hurry up, I gotta go." I said to my little brother who was taking his precious time walking out of the gas station.
I hopped in the front seat of my Honda Civic starting the car.
"My bad Bri," B said.
"Don't ask me for no more rides since you don't understand that I'm about to be late" I rolled my eyes and pulled out of the parking lot.
We drove in silence until we reached the community center where his basketball camp was being held.
"Have a great day, here's my key." I said as I handed him my apartment key. "Don't have nobody in my house Brian. I'm doin you a favor," I eyed him as he stuffed the key in his pocket. "Here's $20," I said as I handed him a bill.
"I won't, thanks again sis." He said as he walked to the entrance of the building.
I then sped in the direction of my job.
"Hey Kia. Anything happen today?" I asked.
"Nah just the Verizon guy is an asshole, rude for no reason. So when you give him his ID back just remember he might say something slick." She warned me.
"Okay thanks girl, who in the office?"
"Everybody." She told me. "You have a great day, see you tomorrow." She waved as she went out the front door.
I grabbed my iPhone charger before plugging it up to the computer as a resident approached the front desk.
"Hey how may I help you?" I asked as I continued unpacking things from my purse.
"402." He said as I put my water bottle on the table.
"402 what?" I asked getting annoyed.
Like tell me what the fuck you want.
"Package." He said blankly.
"Oh okay." I said as I clicked his apartment number on the screen.
It read:
402: 1 UPS package
I then grabbed my purse going into the package room before placing my purse on a shelf. I grabbed the resident's package and sat it in front of him on the desk as he continued staring at me.
"Can you sign here please?" I asked as I pointed to the signature pad.
"I received three emails." He said rudely.
"There was only one checked into the system, I only seen one package in the room. So there's only one" I told him.
"It's just that I received three emails," he said not budging.
"Sir," I stated. "There's only 1 package."
"Yeah okay." He said as he stormed off.
"Have a great day!" I yelled out to him.
"Hey Briana," Bobby, the property manager said as he walked out of the office. "How was your morning,"
"Great and you?"
"Girl I need a nap." He said as he fixed himself some coffee.
"Your residents are going to drive me crazy." I rolled my eyes as I looked at all of the reservations for the day as he chuckled.
"You got it, hold the fort down."
"I will" I laughed.
"Briaaaaana!" I heard my boo call me. "Mariah say hi to your friend," he spoke to his dog. "How you doing?" He asked as he flashed that perfect smile.
