Chapter 2.
I was awoken the next day by my best friend, Peacock who kept shaking me and shaking me.
"Get up Little Dragon!" She cried still shaking me, her blue-green eyes sparkling, looked like real Peacock feathers
"Stop trying to shake me to death, Pea! Then, maybe I WILL get up!" I cried laughing. Pea stopped shaking me and laughed too.
"Come on." She said throwing a black dress, sandals and a blonde wig at me. "You have a BIG part today and we need to be on our way in fifteen minutes!"
I groaned as I stared at the wig, they always itched. I, as always, would be playing the part of the 'beautiful blonde decoy'.
Everyone told me I was pretty, but it was hard for me to believe that.
Thin, shorter than average, pale skin and abnormally red hair weren't my definition of beauty. Especially my hair. It pretty much looked like it had been dyed red, not an auburn red, but more like the color of a red crayola marker. My eyes were also very unusual, they were a weird mixture of grey, blue and green.
I grudgingly clambered out of my sleeping bag and walked out of the concrete shelter into the surrounding forest so I could change. I put on the wig and checked to make sure none of my real hair was visible in a shard of an old mirror. I took of my gym shoes and socks and stood there indulging in the feeling of the tall grass, wet with dew, on my bare feet. I took off my ripped jeans and tee-shirt.
I slipped into the black leather dress Pea had given me. As I was about to lace up the back of the dress I turned to find myself nearly run into by a boy who looked about my age. I'd never seen him before, he wore a black ski cap over his medium length brown hair and a black shirt with a skull on the left side and dark blue blue jeans.
We stared at each other for a few seconds, then there was the noise of voices from the forest behind him, I didn't recognized any of the voices. The boy's dark brown eyes widened.
I watched in shock as the boy ran and climbed into the branches of a nearby tree. He crouched on one of the branches and held his index finger to his mouth, to signal me to be quiet.
"HEY YOU!" A gruff voice yelled. I turned around terrified to face two men. One could be no older then twenty while the other was much older and rather large. The younger man whistled at me while the large man, who was obviously the one who had yelled at me, continued to yell.
"I'm looking for a boy!" The man yelled.
"Yeah well so am I! But the forest is no place to find a boyfriend is it?" I snapped at him, the comeback escaping my mouth before I could even think.
The younger man laughed. "Look sweet heart, we don't want to cause you any trouble. All we wanna know is where this boy went."
I stared at them. "What does the boy look like?" I asked trying to act innocent, this was perfect acting practice for bank robberies.
The large man scratches his head. "Well he has dark brown hair, brown eyes, somewhat pale skin, he's lean, and most important he's VERY dangerous! Well? Have you seen him?" the man asked.
'Dangerous huh?' I thought to myself thinking about how scared the boy was. I began to fake cry, tears streamed down mt cheeks. "I'm so sorry!... You poor, kind gentlemen! He threatened me to distract you so he could sneak around you and go the way you just came!" I then broke into an array of sobs.
"I hope you catch him! I really do." I cried after them as they went the direction they had just come.
